Daniel Faraday is about to reset time and everything that happened to the castaways, is about to be erased. The song lyrics above are from Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon, the song is Eclipse. The problem however, is not that he gets shot by his mother 30 years in the past, and his mother doesn't know who he is, until after she shoots him, but what he said earlier, and what he said to Jack and Kate tonight.

In a previous episode, Faraday stated, whatever happened, happened. You cannot change the past. Tonight, however, he tells Jack and Kate that the past cannot be changed, except for the variables. And they, meaning, the castaways, are the variables. They have free will, they have the ability to make a different choice, to change the past. Alas, Faraday's scenario doesn't end well, and this plays right into my Lost theory.

Just what is the Grassy Knoll Institutes Lost theory….
Although it appears the survivors of Oceanic flight 815 are on a tropical island, they are being deceived. There is no island. The survivors are in a virtual reality laboratory. All the castaways are interconnected to one another sharing each others thoughts, memories, and feelings. While in this virtual reality laboratory, a battery of physical and mental experiments are performed on them. And who is running these experiments? As Juliet stated, the Aliens of course.

So Faraday tells Doctor Chang that he is from the future and that he must evacuate the island immediately. He also tells him that Miles is his son. He then tells Sawyer, Kate, Hurley, Jack, and the gang about the island catastrophe and that he must go to the hostiles camp and meet his mother to reset the time line. He did this to change the course of events, to add a new variable. To course correct so to speak. But I knew this wouldn't work even before Kate typed in the 141717 code on the perimeter fence.

Why? How does the Grassy Knoll Institute know this? I anticipated your next question didn't I? It wasn't anything that Daniel said tonight, or before, but what Desmond had done in the past. Remember when Desmond had his flash and saw Charlie dying? Remember how he tried to prevent Charlie from dying? But what happened in the end? You betcha! Charlie ended up dead. Whatever happened, happened. No matter what you do, you cannot change the past to affect the future.

Remember a few updates ago I mentioned the Time Travel paradox. (Suppose you had the means to travel back in time. While you were visiting the past, you murdered your grandfather before he sired your father preventing you from being conceived and born. But if you were never born, then how could you go back in time to kill your grandfather?) This is why Desmond, Ben, Widmore, Eloise, and Daniel, no matter what they do, or how many times they attempt, they cannot change the course of events in the past to affect the future.

With this being said, here's a Lost series finale spoiler boys and girls. Time Travel is not part of the end Game.

This leaves us only one other scenario. Virtual Reality. Seriously, stay with me here for a minute or two. As the series unfolded over these five seasons, we have come to realize that all the passengers on the plane, and all the hostiles, also known as "The others," have all crossed paths in the past. Don't you find this to be more than just a coincidence? Seriously, hundreds of people, on an island that is invisible, that has properties to move through time, heal terminally ill people, prevent people from aging, allow people to time travel, and allow dead people to interact with the living, plus many more bizarre events, with all of them crossing paths in the past.

Let's concede for the sake of argument that the castaways are time traveling. At that point, you have to admit, that would be a ground breaking scientific achievement since it is deemed impossible. Now add that the island also cures the sick. And not just standard fare illness, but miraculous cures. Just look at John Locke, he is able to walk. Add in all the supernatural events in the previous paragraph and ask yourself, in what scenario can all this be possible? Not just one event, like time travel, but everything involved?

The only scenario that satisfies all those variables is virtual reality. My Lost theory. Some may think I'm a lunatic on the grass, but I know There is no dark side of the moon. Really. Matter of fact, its all dark.

Lost Update - The Good Samaritan

Lost Update - Season V - 04/22/2009

Tonight on Lost, ABC aired a recap following the Oceanic Six escape from the island and eventual return back. Instead of rehashing the rehash, I am staying on point and will analyze yet another social psychology experiment that is being implemented on the Lost Castaways. Tonight's topic is The Good Samaritan.

Everyone knows the parable of the Good Samaritan right? You could take the time and look it up in your bible, in the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 10, verse 25-37. For those not wanting to look it up, here it is in the short version.

A man was walking from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They robbed him of his clothes, possessions, and beat leaving him for dead. As the man lay in the street all crumpled up, a man of the cloth walked by and saw the man but he passed him on the other side. A short time later, another man of the cloth saw the man in need but walked right by him as well. Finally, a Samaritan was walking down the road and saw the man, and he stopped to attend the man. He cleaned and bandaged his wounds, and then lifted the man upon his cart and took him to an Inn. The next day, he paid the innkeeper two silver coins to look after the mans needs and informed the innkeeper that he would return the next day and would reimburse him for any expenses incurred.

The Good Samaritan experiment has been studied many times over by professors across the world. And sometimes, in the case of the Lost Islanders, off the world as well.

We will start with Jack and Ben. Remember a few years back when Jack was forced to operate on Ben to save his life? After he agreed and had Ben open on the operating table, he stopped and demanded that Kate and Sawyer be set free before he would complete the operation and save Ben. Now jump to the present season, just a couple of episodes ago. Young Ben Linus was shot by Sayid and left for dead in the road.

Juliet, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley and gang sought out Jack to help young Ben. Jack flat out refused sealing Ben's fate to die. Remember, Jack was always the good guy, helping the castaways from the get go. Now he goes against his oath as a doctor to heal the sick.

In steps Sawyer. He finally has his life in order. He has become head of security for Dharma, has a nice house, life, and a hot blond doctor in Juliet to do the nasty with. Life is good. But Sawyer does not step around the man lying in the road. (Young Ben Linus) Instead, he risks everything to save him and formulates a plan to deliver Ben to the "Others" (The Innkeeper) to look after and care for him. Sawyer is the Good Samaritan.

Wait a minute? What does the Jesus parable of the Good Samaritan have to do with ABC's Lost and my theory of what is really happening on the island? What, you don't know what the Grassy Knoll Institute Lost theory is. For you first timers, in a nutshell...

All the castaways are interconnected to one another sharing each others thoughts, memories, and feelings. Think about it gang. The castaways are put into incredible situations each and every week. Their very lives hang in the balance with each decision they make, or choose not to make. Dead people are walking around the island handing out advice as if they were a dispenser of knowledge from the great beyond. The island vanishes and appears in different places and also at different times. The castaways are traveling through time, some faster than others, some get lost, some get found.

But the one constant of the show, from the pilot episode to last week's airing, is that each castaway has a choice to make. A life altering choice. That choice is what the experiment is all about. If given different scenario's, what choice would you make? Would you choose to help the group, or choose to help yourself. Think of the characters on the show, and how many of them have made an about face on their choices.

Lost Update - And Miles To Go Before I Sleep

And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Last week I revealed two of the many experiments being conducted on the Lost Islanders. Ivan Pavlov and his salivating dogs to show how conditioning can be changed in an animal. Desmond pushing the button every 108 minutes was the subject. The second was Stanley Milgram’s study on Obedience To Authority. Ben Linus was right smack dab in the center of that experiment. Negative reinforcement to force obedience. The difference is that Desmond and Ben are not aware of any experiments, not aware that they are in a lab, and not aware that nothing they see, feel, or hear is real.

Tonight, I will enlighten you with yet another classic social psychology experiment being conducted on the castaways. I present to you Phillip Zimbardo's Stanford Prisoner's Experiment.

The Prison Experiment, conducted in 1971, was a critical social experiment to study how humans react and behave to being held captive. Zimbardo selected two groups of people deeming one group inmate guards, and the second group, prisoners. The guards were then told to lock up the prisoners and treat them as they would think prisoners should be treated. The prisoners were handcuffed and shackled together and led to their cells and locked in. In the beginning, attitudes didn't change, the guards were receptive to the requests of the prisoners for food, water, and bedding.

But as the experiment progressed, several of the guards became aggressive towards the inmates and went as far as torturing them. The experiment soon got out of control as the prisoners staged a rebellion and rioted against the guards causing both physical and mental harm to both the guards and prisoners. The warden, Phillip Zimbardo himself, had to end the experiment and bring order back to the two groups of of test subjects. The experiment was originally designed twofold. One, to study humans in captivity and how they adapt to being obedient and manipulated when presented a legitimate ideology and support staff. Two, how a group given absolute authority can overstep their boundaries.

My Lost theory sounds pretty good now doesn't it? The castaways of Oceanic Flight 815 are the prisoners while the "Others" play the part of the guards. At first, the "Others" stay away and leave the castaways alone and seem to live in a balanced environment. Until the prisoners find out what the "Others" are doing behind their backs. (Spying on them, stealing the children etc..)

The castaways assemble, and rebel against the "Others" in a violent showdown where many people are killed. The warden, (Ben Linus) has lost control of the situation, and must now put an end to the unchecked violence. This is exactly what transpired in Phillip Zimbardo's Stanford Prisoner's Experiment. Which brings us to my Lost theory.

Holy smoke monster Batman, we're just now getting around to what my Lost theory is. It's worth the wait.

The poem opening this update is by Robert Frost titled, Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening. It describes the tumultuous relationship between Miles and his father, Doctor Chang. Read it again now, before we continue.

Horace brings Miles into the "Circle Of Trust." Not really much of a ceremony was it? Lafluer is not available and Horace needs somebody, Miles is there, and becomes part of the Inner Sanctum. (Now we all know why the compound community goes Helter Skelter.) Miles accepts, (Not even a secret handshake, secret password, not even a stinkin T-Shirt.) What Social Psychology study is going on here? (There will be a test on this tomorrow so speak up now)

I found something very odd in tonight's episode. While Miles and Hurley were riding in the VW van, the radio was playing It never Rains In California by Albert Hammond. Later on we heard the Captain and Tennille singing Love Will Keep Us Together. I am not here to judge the poor taste of music, but my question is, from what radio station is the music broadcast from? Yea, yea, yea, I know there is a tower on top of the mountain, but a radio station, highly unlikely.

Naomi tells Miles they need him for the island mission because there are a lot of dead people on the island they need information from. Hold the phone, stop the movie. Is Miles Bruce Willis, from the movie, I See Dead people? i don't buy it. Dead people on the island with information. Want my motto, dead men tell no tales.

If this were real life, and not a TV program, they would have a date with the mental ward. We, as rational people, would not accept that dead people were communicating with the living. (Jon Edwards has that racket cornered on the A&E channel)

The only plausible explanation is my theory. The virtual reality theory. No one is dead, or mostly dead. No one is in heaven. No one is time traveling back and forth and back again. The island isn't invisible nor does it move around in the ocean. Everything the castaways and the "Others" are experiencing is being controlled in a lab. A virtual reality lab. Each variable introduced is carefully inserted to create the desired effect to study how the herd, (Castaways) reacts.

Tidbits From tonight's Episode:

* Juliet to Kate: "Well, here we go!" After Ben's father finds he is missing.

*Miles is in the same time line as himself as a three month old child. You can throw that theory out folks.

* Naomi returns. And so does the hotness of the show. She is attempting to talk Miles into joining the freighter mission.

* Miles accepts for 1.6 million dollars.

* Do you know what lies in the shadow of the statue? If you don't you are not ready to go on the mission.

* Faraday returns to the island. Questions for Faraday: How many times has he been on the island. And since he has been there before, why doesn't anyone recognize him? Don't give me that Superman disguise crap.

They're coming to get you Barbara! Welcome to Zombie Island. First we have Christian Sheppard waltzing around the island handing out advice to whoever wants to hear it, who by the way is dead. Ben sees his daughter Alex under the temple. She gives Ben instructions. And oh BTW, Alex is dead. Her instructions to Ben were to follow exactly what John Locke tells him to do. Yes, you guessed it. John Locke is dead. Lost has turned into The Night of The Living Dead. George Romero would be so proud.

Before we shamble along any further in this black and white horror movie, let's check in on my theory and how in hell it ties in to tonight's episode.

I have been touting my virtual reality experiment for 5 plus years now and tonight, I take the theory to another level. As I have stated countless times, the castaways are being studied, experimented on without their knowledge, from an unseen outside force. I contend that an alien influence is overseeing the experiments. But what experiments exactly are going on here. Tonight, I will enlighten you.

 I present to you the famed reknown Physiologist Ivan Pavlov. Pavlov researched Classical Conditioning. You know the experiment, where he used a dog and trained him to salivate every time a bell rung. Over a period of time, the dogs became conditioned knowing that when they heard the bell, they would be fed immediately.

What's this got to do with Lost? EVERYTHING!
Let's compare Pavlov's dog to a member of Lost. Let's pick Desmond. Desmond was down in the hatch for years and every 108 minutes he had to push the button to stop the end of the world from coming. When the counter got close an alarm would sound, (Insert bell here) and this sound would excite Desmond to push the button. Desmond's reward was to stay alive and save the world. He was conditioned to think this and to act every 108 minutes. This is but one of many experiments being conducted in a controlled environment, a virtual reality controlled environment.

For tonight's episode, we are going to explore Psychologist Stanley Milgram and his study on Obedience To Authority. Milgram's experiment used two subjects, one becoming the student and one becoming the teacher. The assignment was for the teacher to ask the student a series of questions. For every wrong answer, the student would be given a small shock from the teacher and the shock would increase with intensity at every wrong answer. The focus was to study how effective punishment was for learning particular behaviors. Before the experiment began, both the teacher and student were hooked up to the device that emitted the electric shock and given a sample 45 volt jolt.

Midway through the experiment, the teacher became concerned noting that the student was in obvious pain from the shock. The teacher balked from throwing th switch on the next wrong answer until the administrator demanded that the experiment continue and demanded that the teacher throw the switch. After a few more incorrect answers, the teacher again balks. The administrator tells the teacher that he, not the teacher or student, assumes all liability for the results of the study and for the safety of the student if he is hesitant to continue administering shocks to the student. The teacher continued until the experiment was concluded.

Tonight's episode focused on Ben being judged by the smoke monster, (Hence the lyrics by Jewel, Who will save your soul) and of John Locke coming back and taking control. Please note that several times during the episode, John had to coax Ben into continuing his journey to be judged. As Ben got closer, he balked, and John had to reinforce the determination for Ben to complete his journey to be judged.

Continuing, after Ben fell through the floor, he came face to face with the smoke monster, and afterward, his daughter Alex appeared to him and told Ben to listen and do exactly what John Locke tells you to do or she will kill Ben.

This my friends was Stanley Milgram's study on Obedience To Authority.

Next week, we will explore yet another classic psychological experiment conducted on the castaways.

Lost Update - Season V - 04/02/2009

"DOC: Marty, we have to go back to the future.
MARTY: Why Doc.
DOC: It's your kids Marty, we have to do something about your kids.
MARTY: What, did they grow up to be assholes or something.
MARTY: Doc, we don't have enough road to get up to 88!
DOC: Marty, where we're going, we don't need roads!

It was only a matter of time before the Flux Capacitor and the 1.21 gigawatts needed to power it appeared on Lost. And everyone knew it would involve Hurley. I loved it when Miles was trying to explain to Hurley about time travel and paradox's and how things already happened, but for them, it was happening right now. Does my theory hold it's ground with last night's episode. Yes sir, it certainly does.

While in this virtual reality laboratory, a battery of physical and mental experiments are performed on them. And who is running these experiments? As Juliet stated, the Aliens of course.

For this update, we're going to change it up a bit. In 30 seconds, here is what happened on Lost last night. (Those of you that read slower, perhaps it will take a minute) I will then explain my theory. Ready, here we go.

* Ben is alive. Sayid did not kill him. Jin saves Ben.
* Kate to Sawyer's ex: Sawyer sent me! He's a coward. He stayed behind because of the child.
* Hurley waves his fingers checking to see if he was disappearing as in Back To The Future.
* Hurley and Miles discuss time travel and split time lines and that what was happening to them right now already happened to them 30 years ago. Hurley asked why doesn't he remember it then. And why doesn't Ben remember that Sayid shot him as a child.
* Jack refuses to help Ben even though he is a top flight surgeon. He states that he cannot tamper with the past. He is going to let Ben die.
* Juliet does her best to stabilize Ben.
* Kate donates blood. She is a universal donor.
* Kate meets Ben's father.
* Jack says maybe the island just wants to fix things all by itself.
* Kate doesn't like the new Jack.
* Jack said the last time he was on the island he tried to control and fix everything, now, not so much.
* Time paradox again - Hurley and Miles again cannot explain why Ben didn't recognize Sayid in 2004, the man who shot him in 1977.
* Ben is not getting better, Juliet suggests to bring him to the others.
* Meanwhile, Kate loses Aaron in grocery store.
* Sawyers daughter is Clementine.
* We learn Kates secret. She gave Aaron to Claire's mother, told her everything about the island and why she was going back. To find Claire.
* Richard doesn't answer to anyone, he said it, not to Charles or Ellie.
* Richard takes Ben into jungle, into a secret cave, tells Sawyer he will lose his innocence. Still want me to take him?
* John Locke returns. Welcome back to the land of the living saying to Ben as he sleeps.

In a nutshell, tonight revealed a reversal of fortune, or personalities. Jack has assumed Sawyer's role, he is now the bad guy, the loner, the outcast. Sawyer is now the new Jack, in charge, authority, trying to do what is right for everyone, trying to fix and maintain control over everything. As Ben said a couple of weeks ago. "And how did that work out for you!"

Jack declines to help Ben, and Sawyer is disgusted that he won't help. Think back to season one and two when Jack would ask for assistance and Sawyer declined, saying he was out for himself. This was a pivotal moment in the plot. Not only has the island shifted, but the people and their personalities as well.

I have said this 105 times so far, and I will say it once again. The castaways are in a laboratory, and without their knowledge or permission, are being experimented on like cattle. A virtual reality simulation running keeps all of them connected to control the herd, sort of like one giant electric fence. they are free to roam, free to think, to react, but don't step out of the perimeter lest there be consequences.

Some understand what is going on. Perhaps it is Ben, and through his efforts, is trying to break the control and end the game. Perhaps Desmond, with his flashes, sees what he is not supposed to see. And Faraday, perhaps he has reasoned out the solution and will implement a plan to save everyone.

* Richard looks like he doesn't want to take Ben into the jungle. It's like he knows what will happen.

* Charles and Eloise are in charge. Not just over Richard.

* Jacob will be appearing shortly. Perhaps to cure Ben.

Lost Update - I Wanna Be Sedated

Lost Update - Season V - 03/25/2009

A ten year old Ben Linus brought me a chicken salad sandwich, how do you think I am?

Let us begin with the ending of tonight's episode. Young Ben helps Sayid escape. Sayid shoots young Ben in cold blood. Sayid breaks the cycle from repeating. Or does he? According to my Lost theory, Sayid is dead wrong. I'll say it again for affect. Dead wrong!

I'll get back to Sayid in a minute or two but first an observation. Tonight we see the pendulum swing the other way. Sawyer has become the Alpha male while Jack is just one of the pack.  Sawyer has set up house with Juliet, Jacks flame, and she has fallen in line.  Sawyer is head of security, a very powerful position at Dharma, what with hostiles at the fence perimeter just waiting to attack. Or drive flaming vans into houses. The Dharma gang listens to Sawyer, waits for his wisdom, exactly what he always wanted.

And what of Jack. What has he become. Thats right, a flip flop. Jack is now regulated to "Workman" status, merely a grunt in the Dharma scheme of things. Even his jumpsuit bears it out. Jack has no decision power, no one to lead, no one who will listen. Jack is Sawyer, and Sawyer is now Jaack.

Of course this is predictable with my virtual reality theory. (Focus here readers.) Standard psychological test for behavioral scientists. Study the pack, determine the Alpha, the structure of command. But for the castaways, once they get accustomed to one role, the parameters are altered, reset if you will, and roles are changed. Jack is now on the outside looking in. He will pull a Sawyer in upcoming episodes.

Which leads us back to Sayid. As a child, a natural born killer, snapping the neck of the chicken at his family's pen. Easing into the military in the Republican army. Killing all those people for Ben. Finally, killing the younger version of Ben in hopes of breaking the cycle. But we know that won't happen don't we? If you read my update from a couple of weeks ago, you would already know that.

In my March 11th Lost update, No Time Like The Past, Driscol attempts to make the future better by altering the past but everything he tries, fails. Same with Sayid. Killing Ben in 1977 will not alter what happens in 2004, or any time line. Why? Because in 2004, Ben Linus is alive and controls the others. We see this. Hence, Sayid killing Ben in the past does not change the future.

Time travel theory is beginning to unravel. The problem with the theory is a time paradox. Sayid kills Ben in 1977 before Ben kills the Dharma group. But we see it happen, so Sayid failed. It's the grandfather paradox time travel can't overcome. If you went back in time and murdered your grandfather before he sired your father, then how could you be born? And if you did succeed, then how could you travel back in time if you were never born.

However, with virtual reality, what is happening on the island is easily explainable. It is simply a mass experiment to study the herd, (The human species) and how they adapt, choices made in times of danger and adversity, and leisure. Sawyer really didn't want to give up his cozy little gig he had going as chief of security now did he?

BTW, what a bonus that my Twilight Zone update a couple weeks ago nails tonight's episode. Sayis was playing Driscol. Instead of going back in time and killing Hitler, Sayid kills Ben Linus. But that won't change anything.

What the hell time is it anyway? Sorry for the late Lost update, or, if you are in Sawyers time zone, I'm 32 years early. So I guess we're even. I was on an airplane, Southwest, coming back to Youngstown from Las Vegas while Lost was airing. It wasn't flight 815, I checked, but it was close, Flight 181.

Tonight's update title and song lyrics, Heroes, penned by Glam Rocker David Bowie, was released in the fall of 1977. (Hey, what a coincidence, Sawyer, Miles, Juliet, and the gang are stuck in 1977) (See how I tie this all in) (Do you also see how I use parenthesis way to much) After reading the lyrics, (You did read them didn't you, they are important in tonight's update. Seriously, this time I'm not lying to you like Ben Linus always does) you will see my theory is embedded in the lyrics above.

Just what is the Grassy Knoll Institutes Lost theory….I’ve been waiting 32 years to tell you…..
Although it appears the survivors of Oceanic flight 815 are on a tropical island, they are being deceived. There is no island. The survivors are in a virtual reality laboratory. All the castaways are interconnected to one another sharing each others thoughts, memories, and feelings. While in this virtual reality laboratory, a battery of physical and mental experiments are performed on them. And who is running these experiments? As Juliet stated, the Aliens of course.

The island has come full circle tonight. (Well, actually last night. Remember, I'm a day late on updates) When first we discovered the Dharma Initiative, we learned Ben's little secret and the fate of the group. (Ben killed them all with help from Richard Alpert, the supposed leader of the others, or the hostiles, or the originals) Now Sawyer and the castaways are propelled back in time to 1974, and became indoctrined into the group, and Sawyer becomes head of security, and gets the blond bombshell, Juliet, and they set up house and live happy little lives. Cue the Disney theme music of Circle of Life. I just can't wait to be king.....

Until....
Kate, Jack, Sayid, Sun, Hurley, and Ben return. And begin the cycle of history repeating itself with the demise of the Dharma Initiative. We saw the tension between Sawyer, Kate, Jack and Juliet, (Read the lyrics over again, "Yes we're lovers, and that is that. Though nothing, will keep us together.)

Sawyer's reign is about to come to an end. Jack doesn't like what's happening, Sayid has stirred up trouble, and Kate, well, is the catalyst to have the whole shibang go up in flames.

You see, the virtual reality experiment has been reset at the beginning of season five. All the rules and parameters have been changed. Jack is now the workman, Sawyer is now the man in charge. Juliet is no longer with Jack, but with Sawyer. Kate is no longer with Sawyer, but together with Jack. Locke is the new Ben, Ben is the new Locke.

Remember long ago, I told you that the castaways are merely lab rats, tools, to be experimented on physically and mentally. Once results are studied and confirmed, new variables are inserted in the scenario and the experiment begins anew. Season five is the new scenario, the new beginning. The castaways are given new assignments, new roles, new agenda's. Let the analysis continue.

Tidbits From Tonight's Episode:

* We all got to meet baby Ethan. And Horace is the dad. Very peculiar since we were led to believe that Ben murdered the entire camp. perhaps the children were spared.

* Ben's arm, in a sling, apparently heals itself when he gets back to the island. But what about his spinal cord surgery, why didn't he heal.

* I loved it when Sun, after whacking Ben senseless with a boat oar, replied to Lapidus, "I lied!" That's Ben's line.

* Christian Shepherd appears. If the castaways are not dead, then it has to be virtual reality.

Lost Update - It Is Over Now

Lost Update - Season V - 03/04/2009

Is it just me, or did Sawyer, AKA Jim Lafluer, look like Kid Rock when he was back in time in 1974? Seriously, I was expecting Pamela Anderson to walk through one of those cabin doors.

Tonight's episode was all about time with a few tidbits of the main story thrown in to entertain. The castaways kept jumping from time to time until it was finally over. The headaches were gone, the flashing had stopped, the nose bleeds dried up, and time travel was over. Whatever happened happened. (Daniel Faraday) The castaways are trapped in 1974, (Oh the horror, the height of monster bell bottom blue jeans) and separated from Jack, Hurley, Kate, Sayid, Ben, Locke and the rest of the castaways.

However, Sawyer, or Lafluer, moved on from Kate and is getting his groove on with Juliet. At one point tonight, I thought I was watching a classic Leave It To Beaver episode. (Ward, You were pretty hard on the Beaver last night!) Sawyer comes home from a hard day at work. Stops by the garden outside his cottage and picks a flower. Walks in and sees dinner on the table and his main squeeze Juliet, in the kitchen cooking dinner. They embrace, kiss, and exchange "I love you's" to each other.

It's to bad that Sawyer and Juliet have fallen smack dab in the middle of my Lost theory.

Let's take a closer look at tonight's episode. We see Sawyer and Juliet working together like a well oiled machine. She has his back, kills for him, watches over him, listens to him, and allows him to take command. Sawyer slowly integrates into the Dharma Initiative, he even wears the jump suit. Sawyer and Juliet are living the simple life on the Lost island.

Until the end of tonight's show when Jack, Hurley, and Kate show up. Kate looks longingly at Sawyer, and Sawyer looks at Kate. We all thought the same thing at the same time. (Love triangle) Hey, it's the 70's, a little Ménage à Trois could spice up Lost.

Are you following along here? OK, in a nutshell, Boy meets girl, rolls in the sand, girl meets another boy, rolls in sand with him, boy meets another girl, girl already rolled in sand with the other boy, but girl rolls in the sand with him anyway, boy and girl fall in love, set up house, boy picks flowers, girl cooks dinner, boy and girl roll in the sand, boy and girl believe life is grand. Boy gets phone call after rolling in sand with girl. Boy meets up with girl three years later. Both boy and girl think about the roll in the sand they had previously. And it starts all over again.

Sawyer and Juliet are unknowing subjects in a virtual reality experiment to study the dynamics of human love and relationships. Sawyer and Juliet are put in many different situations and time frames. They are then observed to see how they both adapt and develop. Notice how Sawyer and Juliet are ruthless killers in one scenario, and Ward and June Cleaver in another. Each scenario, they had each other's back, were together, bonded. (And not in the armored car security guard bonded type)

You see folks, my virtual reality theory is real, viable, feasible. The castaways are not on an island, but in a lab, being studied by mysterious men supposedly government type men but in reality, are aliens.

Tidbits From Tonight's Episode:

* Horace Goodspeed. Town drunk, village idiot, and large and in charge.

* Thanks anyway Plato.

* The statue returns. You remember, the four toed statue that was in total disrepair, during one of the flashes, the statue was erect. (Must of got a glimpse of Juliet's cleavage)

* Amy was pregnant, Amy gave birth to a baby boy. Horace is the daddy.

* What the hell is the truce?

* Richard Alpert shows up, defeats the sonic fence defenses, and looks exactly how he did in the future, or the past, or whatever.

* Daniel sees a very young Charlotte in the camp. She waves to him.

* Amy was quite upset when Horace told her Richard wanted Paul's body. What is Richard, some sort of evil gardener that plants dead bodies and watches them grow again?

With Lost not airing a new episode next week, expect to see a special Lost Update shining a light on time travel and what it means to Lost.

Lost Update - Suicide Is Painless

Lost Update - Season V - 02/25/2009

Through early morning fog I see,
Visions of the things to be.
The pains that are withheld for me,
I realize and I can see.
That suicide is painless,
It brings on many changes.
And I can take or leave it if I please.

OK, which one is Radar O'Reiley? You know, from Mash, the TV show about the war in Korea. What, you didn't know that this song was the theme song for MASH? Well, now you know.

We begin tonight dissecting the title of this update and it's lyrics, Suicide Is Painless, because it is very critical to the outcome of Lost. Let us recap what we know up until this episode shall we. John Locke was told by Richard that he must not only leave the island to save the people, but that he also must die. Ben shows Locke the way off the island and the way through time. Later it's revealed that Locke is the one dead in the casket. A suicide note given to Jack seals the deal confirming Locke is dead.

Ok, to the lyrics. First two lines:
Through early morning fog I see,
Visions of the things to be.

John has been flashing back and forth in time and gathering information and realizing what he needs to do. His visions of the things to be.

Third and fourth lines:
The pains that are withheld for me,
I realize and I can see.
Johns pains withheld, well, he can walk, he is healed on the island, and it's for a reason. Locke realizes that he is special, and has a purpose.

Fifth and sixth lines:
That suicide is painless,
It brings on many changes.
Suicide is painless. Locke knows by dying he saves the people, the island, and himself. He also understands that in doing so, it will bring on many changes to the people and island of Lost.

Last line:
And I can take or leave it if I please.
Locke has a choice. He can accept his path and go through with his plan, or choose a different course of action. He can take it or leave it.

Now do you all see why my Lost theory is so appealing. It all makes sense. Really it does! Just what is the Grassy Knoll Institutes Lost theory….I hear the choppers coming so here it is real quick like...

As Juliet told Sawyer while walking through the jungle, "The Aliens of course."

Think back to the Lost pilot way back in 2004. Remember Locke, after everything settled down. He was by himself, looking out at the ocean, satisfied, calm, at home. Fast forward to season five, this episode, Locke is back where he started. By himself, gazing out a the ocean. He came home.

Yes, yes, Locke came back from the dead and traveled back to the island. Or, he is still dead, but just in the past, or the future. Because Ben told him to leave the island and bring back the Oceanic Six to save the people and island. He turns a wheel, and Ohh snap, he is back on the mainland.

Stop right there! This has gone on far enough. Tonight's episode was all about time travel. And yes, just as almost entire season five has been.

Adding to the above time travel theory, Widmore discusses with Locke that the last time he saw him, it was decades ago, but Locke hasn't aged one bit. But to Locke, it was only a few days ago. Widmore was 17 when he first met Locke. Now he is in his late 60's.

Or when Ben, a much younger looking Ben is seen in the background spying on Locke as he is being driven around town. It appears that either Ben is addicted to time travel, or there are a dozen Ben's running around, all at a different age.

Or when Locke goes to Helen Norwoods grave site. The tombstone said she died in the year 2006. If Locke's plane crashed in September of 2004, and he was on the island for 108 days, then he was in the future when he visited the grave of Helen. Are you seeing my point here?

Look at previous weeks. The island flashes and the castaways blink in and out of time arriving years in the past, and years into the future. In a matter of minutes. But not everyone follows. Some like Jin travel at different speeds, and takes a while to catch up to the rest.

The writers of Lost are leading the viewers down the proverbial rabbit hole. But we aren't going to find Alice. (Don't even think about asking her, she doesn't really know even if the song says she does) Or Wonderland, that improbable reality inhabited by outlandish people. Instead, we will find a dead end with no answers from the writing staff. Just more questions. Why, because it's subterfuge. The writers are hiding the real story line. The real plot line. My story line. My plot line.

Damn, I'm arrogant. And perhaps a fool. At least I know it. Seriously, remember when the writers said at the get go that Lost will be explained in a way that is physically real. Something that isn't impossible. Something that you can see, feel, grasp a hold of, understand. They are leading you to a conclusion that time travel is the Lost Secret, and that Ben, Richard, Desmond, Widmore, or Faraday, or all of the castaways, are manipulating time like changing the channel on a television set.

BTW, want to know what all those math equations on the chalk boards you see on Lost. It's Einstein's Special Theory Of Relativity. Everyone knows Einstein's theory of special relativity concerning time travel. If you don't, here is the link. I suggest you read it now before you go any further. Notice that certain castaways experience Time Dilation. Richard Alpert for one. John Locke another. (You did follow the link and read about the relativity theory didn't you?)

Some also experience Relativity of simultaneity. This explains all the time shifting of the island, and the castaways experiencing multiple events happening at the same time.

Don't forget about Composition of velocities. Remember Faraday conducting his rocket experiment last season. It took like 38 minutes to reach the island when it should have only taken a minute.

But I have a problem with this Lost theory. I point to the Grandfather Paradox in time travel. Meaning, say you did have a time machine that really worked. And you went back to the past. And you murdered your grandfather. In doing so, that means you were never born. So, how could you go back in a time machine and murder your grandfather if you were never born? Exactly!!!

So, if Ben went back in time and murdered people, altering the past, then he also alters the future (And we know he has done this) and opens a paradox.

Or, we can believe in the virtual reality theory. Imagine the freedom you could possess in virtual reality. How many countless lives you could have. Countless scenario's. And you play every single scenario out. When the end game arrives, (You die, win, lose) you merely reset and start fresh from the beginning. Remember, in my virtual reality theory, each castaway is connected to one another yet can be miles away, or years in the past, or future, from one another.

This is a more plausible theory than the messy paradox time travel. I am just waiting for Doc Brown to come crashing through the jungle in his Delorean yelling that he has to get back to the future. Remember his explanation on the chalk board to Marty, about the split time continuum, and that he and Marty are now living in a parallel universe and that they must go back to the past to fix the future? Doc's dog was Einstein BTW.

Tidbits from tonight's episode:
* Ben always lies. He is not there to help and protect the castaways.

* Locke is back on the mainland. And he is not crippled. Apparently the island's healing powers have a far reach.

* Widmore told Ben he was exiled, expelled by "Him!" Sort of has that Lucifer feel when he was expelled from heaven by God. '

* The others are Widmore's people.

* Staying on the Lucifer topic. Ben is seen in that light as of lately. The religion play is picking up on Lost.

Lost Update - Season V - 02/18/2009

Did you notice anything familiar about how Lost opened tonight? A close up of Jack's eye, him lying in the jungle, in his suit. You, you win the prize. That's how the series began. Jack had made it back. Ready to resume his life on the island and that falls right in line with my own theory.

Tonight will be a direct get to the point update. I hope everyone is a fast reader. If not, it's OK, just read slower. Ready.

Ben always lies. When he said he didn't know about the Lamp Post, (Dharma owned) Mrs. Hawkings replied, he's probably lying. And he was.

The key to tonight's episode was when Desmond couldn't believe that the Oceanic Six willingly wanted to return to the island with the aid of Mrs. Hawkings. Desmond was disgusted and blurted out something to this effect; They don't care about us. They're playing a game with us, we're just pieces to them.

As I stated several weeks ago making the comparison of the Xbox 360 video game my son was playing and how after he lost, he merely reset the game and the parameters and began again from the beginning. Exactly what was happening tonight. The castaways are in there own type of video game, a virtual reality experiment.

Let's suppose that you were getting pretty good at a particular video game. You keep playing until you get it right and win. You make sure that you have the same parameters that got you to the top level, such as the correct maps, best guns, ammo, med kits, and partners. If you have the experienced people playing with you, your odds get better to win.

That is why Hawkings said that all six needed to be on that plane, or the outcome would be unpredictable. Like the video game if you have a new player and don't know their personality and game skills.

Also why Jack needed to use Locke as a proxy for his father. He needed to get as close as possible to the previous flight so as to produce the same results. Jack brings his fathers shoes, sort of like selecting the correct map or right ammo.

Flight 316 is the flight they need to be on to get back to the island. That will be key in episodes ahead.

Locke is dead. And next week he's alive. I don't care if the island is moving, or a giant electromagnetic field is below or above the island, or if they are traveling through time, or any other explanation and theory you can think up, (Except one, mine) the fact is John Locke was dead and now he's alive.

Some will say that he died in the past. If he did. Then how was he alive in the future and meet the castaways.

Some will say he died in the future. If he did, then how did he leave the island and go to the mainland and die?

See the paradox here? There can be only one explanation. That's right, virtual reality.

Tidbits From Tonight's Episode:

* Ben tells Jack the story of Doubting Thomas. And how he had to see and touch the wounds of Jesus before he could believe.

* Staying with Jesus, Ben also says that Thomas also was the one who said they should all go with Jesus and die together. See what Ben was telling Jack. Yes, Ben is Jesus and the castaways are his apostles.

* Ben was all bloodied when he called Jack to pick up Locke's body. Methinks he was settling a score with Widmore. Killing Penny perhaps.

* Hey, tonight was yet another plane crash. How will Widmore explain this crash like he did with Oceanic flight 815?

* Jack and Kate do the horizontal.

* Kate tells Jack not to ever ask her about Aaron, Claire's son who she was taking care of.

* And finally, The song title and lyrics tonight are from the rock band Jefferson Starship, Find Your Way Back. Exactly what was unfolding in tonight's episode. Yes I know, god choice.

Lost Update - Baby Come Back

"This place is death. Don't let them bring her back to the island!" (Charlotte to Jin concerning Sun) But wait a minute, that theory was already discounted. That leaves my theory still viable.

I noticed something in tonight's episode. It began with Jin being 16 years in the past with the French expedition, with a pregnant Danielle. After a brief interaction, the island flashed a few times sending him and the French crew through time. But in one flash, Jin synced up with Sawyer, Juliet, Locke, Daniel, Miles, and Charlotte. Not only did he move in time, but also in location. All the previous flashes the group traveled in time only, not in location. When the island flashed yet again and again, why did Jin stay with his group instead of jumping on his own?

The reason is because Jin belongs with that group. He is part of a particular controlled virtual reality experiment. As are all the other previous groups of people on the island in the past, present, and future. (The Black Rock, Dharma Group, Original others, French Expedition, Castaways, etc.) Each group are set there for specific reasons. Even the ones that aren't even on the island. They will be compelled to return. Just as they all thought it was their own free will boarding flight 815, they will believe they are returning to the island on their own accord.

But in reality, (Or virtual reality) it is merely an extravagant experiment.

Charlotte revealed to Daniel that she grew up on the island and that her and her mother left the island. Ever since, she has spent her adult life to find and get back on the island. She then remembered that if she were to return to the island, she would die. And she thinks Daniel was the man that told her this. This begs the question, then why in holy hell would Charlotte want to get back to the island knowing she will die?

Tidbits From Tonight's Episode:
*And where the hell are the others? Rose, Bernanrd, and the rest of the original 48 and tallies?

*Was Charlotte born on the island? If so, perhaps that is why she died. Remember, all the babies born on the island die. When she returned, she died. All the others merely had nose bleeds.

*Some good advice. Listen to Jack's dead father. He told Locke while he was trapped down in the well; When did listening to Ben ever get you anywhere?

*History repeating itself. The French expedition all went crazy forcing Danielle to shot them all to protect herself and Alex.

*Jack's father made it a point to tell Locke that he told Locke to move the island, not Ben.

*As usual, Ben lies. When he said he was helping Sun, Kate, Jack, and the others, he was helping himself. Ben moved the island meaning he cannot ever return. Unless of course he has an ace up his sleeve.

*Eloise Hawking, Faraday's mother. She knows how to get back to the island?

In the 1950's the United States military tested hydrogen bombs on deserted islands to measure radiation fallout, destruction, and half life of radiation. In 1969, a new TV drama series titled The New People debuted. It was written by Rod Serling, creator of the Twilight zone.

The premise of The New People series was…. A group of young American college students plane crash lands on a deserted island. The students are a diverse bunch, from every walk of life and every field of study. The New People find out that the island they are on is called Bomano island and is targeted as a nuclear bomb test island. The New People decide to form their own government in hopes of righting what was wrong in the real world. The unknown question was whether the United States would ever continue its tests and detonate a nuclear bomb on the island.

What the hell does this have to do with tonight's Lost episode? For the answer, we have to go back to the past. How befitting. In My Lost update from June of 2006 titled If I Could Turn Back Time, this storyline is discussed in greater detail. And now tonight, on Lost, it's happening all over again.

The year is 1954. Location, a mysterious island. The players, a group of diverse people on the island, the U.S. military, and a hydrogen bomb. Richard Alpert, leader of the "Others" reveals the hydrogen bomb testing alluding to the Rod Serling tie in. That was a major tie in and to me, a major clue of what is really happening on Lost and how my theory relates to tonight's episode.

Just what is my theory….. It lies somewhere in the fifth dimension.
Although it appears the survivors of Oceanic flight 815 are on a tropical island, they are being deceived. There is no island. The survivors are in a virtual reality laboratory. All the castaways are interconnected to one another sharing each others thoughts, memories, and feelings. While in this virtual reality laboratory, a battery of physical and mental experiments are performed on them. And who is running these experiments? As Juliet stated, the Aliens of course.

Tonight's episode continues with the time shifting arc as the island phased in and out of time. Penny is pregnant and giving birth. A moment later their child (Charlie) is 4 years old. On the island, the castaways are also time shifting and Locke is determined to put an end to it. He replies to Sawyer, if you've just been what I went through, you would ask when the hell have I been.

We also learn a little more about Chuck Widmore. He was one of the original others under Richard Alpert. He snapped the neck of his comrade when they were captured when he was going to reveal the location of their camp.

OK, I know, where the hell is the virtual reality theory tie in? Tonight, we're going to look at Charles Widmore. In the 1950's, he was a soldier under the command of Richard. Charles was a lowly grunt and in the future, he is a very powerful and wealthy man. Everything that he wasn't on the island.

Widmore's virtual reality experiment was a simple one. Gave a man of common means unlimited wealth and power and study the changes in personality. Charles now has two paths to choose from. The classic good and evil path. It would appear that Widmore chose the evil path and built an empire with influence over governments and feared by many. Unlike when he was on the island. Case in point: Richard gives Widmore a command and when he doesn't oby immeditaely, Richard smacks the gun away from Widmore and scolds him in front of the group.

For the Oceanic six that escaped the island and now have to return. At first, it appeared that they were getting everything they wanted. Jack and Kate together, Sun becoming a powerful woman, Hurley safe and comfortable, and Sayid hooking up with the love of his life that he was searching for 7 years.

Returning to the island is sort of like resetting a video game. Getting a new life. All the wounds being healed. New supplies. New personalities. Another chance. For the returning six, they will be reset and absorbed back into the virtual reality connection with new parameters for them.

And one more thing before we get to the tidbits. John Locke, literally a broken man off the island, has ascended to his ultimate dream. He is the leader of his people. And that's all he ever wanted. Respect!

Lost Update - I Am A Believer

Lost Update - Season V - 01/22/2009

Season five of LOST opened with a close up of an alarm clock showing the time at 8:14, which of course is two of the famous and mysterious LOST numbers. The next instant, it flipped to 8:15 and season five was in full stride. No close up eyeball this time.

The sky flashed, a bright white light, disorientation, and Oceanic's crashed plane is no longer on the beach. The entire camp is gone. Daniel Faraday, resident egghead, states that the island is dislodged in time. Does this sound familiar? Of course it does. It smacks right into my theory.

Just what is my theory….. I told you in the past, and also the future. Now it's time for the present.

In the Lost pilot, Jack muttered, "How did we get here." He also said it last night when talking to Ben as they were taking Locke out of the funeral home. What is the significance of this. Plenty Lost fans. Plenty.

I was watching my son play Xbox 360 the other night. The game he was playing was Left 4 Dead. After he played for awhile, going from level to level, his power energy went low and he lost the game. I then noticed he simply reset the game, changed the parameters of the game, from easy to medium to hard and also changed the characters in the game. Patrick (My son) had to start from scratch. He had to retrieve new guns, new medicines, and supplies and start from the beginning.

That is exactly what happened on Lost last night. The virtual reality experiment was reset. The parameters of the experiment were reset. The characters were reset. Ready to begin anew. The camp and all the possessions were gone. The supplies were gone. The guns were gone. Even new characters were introduced. Now, everyone gets another chance to play the game. To get it right this time.

I noticed last night that the parameters of the show have changed. Personalities have changed. Wouldn't it be a kick if when they all reunited on the island that each persons role changed.

As in Jack, instead of the doctor and a take charge hero in season one, is now Charlie, the drug addict. Remember what Ben told Jack when he left the hotel room. He told Jack to pack a suitcase and fill it with everything he needs and can't live without because he will not be coming back. What do you want to bet he packs a suitcase full of his pills. Just like Charlie.

Or Sawyer, the grifter and con man now turns into the hero and leader. At the beginning, Sawyer was out for himself. He horded the guns, food, medicine. In season five, he takes charge of the castaways after the flash of light, (Reset) and has become the new leader. And tell me if I'm wrong here, but Sawyer and Juliet have a heavy vibe going on.

Or, Sun the battered wife fleeing her husband to start a new life will become the strong independent on the island, possibly even a murderer, taking the role played by Kate.

Speaking of Kate. She becomes the docile type. Protector of her child.

And the kicker. Ben Linus, the feared (Other) the mean bastard out to kill all the castaways before, now turns into the good guy.

What about Locke? John Locke has two paths. A wild card for sure. He either stays constant, much like Richard Alpert, or he assumes the role of Ben and slowly turns into a monster.

Continuing with the virtual reality reset theory. Perhaps all the virtual reality scenario's (Experiments) are running simultaneously and are intersecting with one another. Files corrupted, wires crossed. Hence, Richard coming to Locke in the past after he was shot and giving him what he needs. Or Ethan finding Locke. Or Desmond still in the hatch. Or the castaways seeing the hatch blown to smithereens and the next moment the hatch is still intact. Or the time flashing from daytime to nighttime and back again. When that happens, what do you do? That's right! Reset the game.

Season five has reset the game for the Lost survivors. In this new virtual reality experiment, (Game) lets see who becomes the alpha, the good, the evil, the love interests, and the challenges.

Tidbits to watch unfold in season five.

We learn a little about the old fashioned movies found in the Dharma stations. Dr. Marvin Kandell (Candle) lives on the island. The reason he is there. To harness an unlimited energy source that can manipulate time.

Sayid warns Hurley, "Whatever Ben says for you to do, do the opposite. Ben always lies. Now thats a constant.

Ana Lucia, kicked off the show a season ago for being arrested for DUI, interacts with Hurley. She is dressed as a cop and gives Hurley some good advice. "Stay away from the police and don't get arrested." That was a great pun.

Daniel Faraday tells Sawyer that no matter how hard they try, they cannot change the events of the past or future. And then what does he do, he changes events by contacting Desmond.

Soldiers capture sawyer and Juliet. His name tag says Jones. He asks Sawyer and Kate, "What are you doing on our island."

I must say whoever believes that my theory is far fetched, replay what Hurley told his mother last night. (The plane crashed, we survived. Then a smoke monster attacked us. And a polar bear. And dead people walking around. And then the others tried to kill us. But we killed them, and then joined up with them to fight some others. And then the chopper landed and tried to fly us to the freighter that found us, but the freighter blew up and we returned to the island, but the island disappeared and Sayid killed a lot of people for Ben, and now we have to go back.) Virtual reality doesn't sound to far fetched now does it?

Deja Vu

Last week I spoke of information that will blow the lid off all the secrets of the hit ABC series Lost, but I needed to research a few facts before revealing the true story behind Lost. My research is complete, and I am ready to reveal the true story line of Lost. I ask you all to hold judgement until you have read the entire article. Yes, it is a very long document, and you will have to re-read several sections to understand the meaning. But trust me, it will become clear as you read and comprehend. Have an open mind, let the thoughts in, the negativity out, and you will see the wonders of this article.

There are two parts to this story. The first part will deal with the survivors of the plane crash. Jack, Kate, Michael, Sayid, Locke, Sawyer, Claire, Sun, and the gang. The second part will explain the "Others," Ben, Juliet, Tom, Ethan, Karl, etc.

First, the plane crash survivors. There is no mystery here. It was a horrific plane crash where hundreds died leaving 48 survivors on one side of the beach and another 23 survivors from the tail section on the other side. Both groups banded together to increase their chances of survival. Several of them died on the shore from injuries to severe for Jack, the doctor, to help including the FBI agent who was taking Kate back to prison. Here's the kicker. There is nothing supernatural going on. They are not dead, or in hell, or trapped in the Bermuda Triangle, not abducted by aliens, nor unwilling participants in a virtual reality experiment. In reality, they are merely survivors of a plane crash trying to survive on a large island until help arrives to rescue them.

Wait, what about John Locke, who was bound to a wheel chair from a fall from an 8th story window and after the crash, miraculously was able to walk again? That is easily explained medically. If you recall a week back, during Locks flashback, he was suffering from depression about what his father did to him. He later catches up to him and is pushed out a window. Hence, he is now in a wheelchair. It was not implied that he would be in the chair forever. In fact, it looked like he was in physical therapy. After several months it was determined that Locks inability to walk wasn't physical, but a result of his depression he was still suffering. When he awoke on the island after the crash, his instincts for survival took over and he got up and got to safety.

Now for the second and long part of the article. Remember, keep an open mind here, read what I say, and let it sink in. At first, you will think I have flipped and gone mad but after several more paragraphs, it will slowly begin to make sense. i am going to be blunt and spell it out for you right now and then back up my claim with the printed evidence that was uncovered.

The 1960's was a radical time to live in. The Vietnam war at it's peak and the flower power children were protesting the army and the government. even John Lennon was protesting the war. The flower children, or hippies, were becoming a voice to be reckoned with, and their rallies more and more vocal and planned. The government, especially president Richard Nixon, took notice of this of and began to deploy more military personnel to each and every rally to secure and keep the peace. Soon afterwards, fights broke out between the soldiers and the flower people and the military presence elevated. It was inevitable that the outcome of a peace rally would result in death. Kent State, Ohio, May 4th, 1970, was that rally. Four students protesting the war were shot dead.

The summer of love, 1969, spawned Woodstock, the greatest rock and roll concert of all time. It was a week of love ins, drugs, spirituality, and rock and roll. A group of friends at that very concert, a group with like values, formulated a plan to set their souls free from oppression, the government, the war, and rules and regulations spewed out by boisterous politicians who spoke but said nothing.

Without further adieu, ABC Lost is based on a tight knit group of radical 1960's hippies where after Woodstock, pulled their resources together, scouted a deserted island location, purchased the island, and made it their home. There they would create the ultimate commune, where peace and love would be the only things on their minds. Politicians, money, and the influence of the outside world would be eliminated. They would be free to create their own laws to live by. The "Others" that are on the island now, they are the second generation "Flower Children" living on the island now still believing in the Woodstock values of their parents. If you recall, Ben stated that he was born on the island, which would make him around 38 years old.

But, as we start to see as the series plays out, paradise is lost as dissention in the ranks is rearing it's ugly head. Several people want to go home while others are disenchanted with the hippie way of life and are looking for another way. Ben is trying to hold onto the commune, but he sees it slipping away for the flower people have a dark secret that is the final nail in the commune way of life. Most of the adults are sterile, a condition passed down from their parents who during their life, experimented with many mind and body altering drugs. The results left them sterile leaving few options.

Needing help from the outside world, they seek out a fertility specialist, Juliet. With her techniques, the commune can once again repopulate the island and carry on. Now you understand why the children of the castaways were abducted. The children would allow the commune to repopulate.

Wait, there's more. Lost is modeled after the music recorded by Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, a popular hippie rock and roll band that performed at Woodstock. The songs from two of their albums, Deja Vu and So Far, plus several other assorted CSNY singles outline the plot and storyline of each episode. Sounds incredible doesn't it? I know, but wait until you see the evidence.

Go ahead, I'll wait while you Google the albums. But, you don't have to do that. We have the information directly following. In the next part of this update, I will point out the lyrics that pertain to the series even pointing out names in the lyrics.

Is it starting to sink in yet? Don't worry, it will. We're going to start with the song Woodstock, written by Joni Mitchell and performed by CSNY.

NOTE: This is the chance meeting of the group that steered them toward freedom and seeking out the island.

NOTE: They considered themselves special, or golden, and as the line says, got to get ourselves back to the garden. Or tropical paradise island.

Yes and maybe it's the time of man
And I don't know who I am
But life is for learning
NOTE: No smog on the island, unless you consider the black smoke as smog. It was time for them to leave, the time of man, to find out exactly who they were.

We were half a million strong
And everywhere there was song and celebration
And I dreamed I saw the bombers jet planes
Riding shotgun in the sky

NOTE: Half a million like minded people celebrating peace, love, and rock and roll. Jet planes mentioned here, the same plane that crashed landed and the apparent previous planes.

We are caught in a devil's bargain
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden

NOTE: Caught in a devils bargain. The second generation children were not part of the bargain. They did not have the choice their parents had. Paradise Lost indeed.

Note: Before we move to the next song, did you ever wonder why the computer and the video equipment in the hatches were from 1970? The flower children brought it with them, and in 1970, it was state of the art equipment. Also the music played, all records, all from 1970 or before. Same as the films in the hatch. All black and white, and all looking pre DVD and HD clarity. Also notice the clothes the "Others" wear. Clothes from the 60's, hippie clothes. I'll tell why the hatches are on the island later on in the update.

Let's move on to the next song. It's titled, Chicago, and speaks of the political scene of the 1960's and what the hippies wanted to avoid. Here are the lyrics. Pay close attention to them.

NOTE: Is the light starting to shine bright now? Lets look at the first two lines in this song. What is it depicting? That's right, John Locke's father bound and gagged and chained to a chair. We see this just two episodes ago.

NOTE: The flower children wanted to change their world for the better. They knew there was a better way, and it was dying to get better.

NOTE: As the lyrics say, there is no government for the flower children, no politicians, there is nothing for them here.

The song Ohio is our next selection. This spurred the group to not flee the country, but an awakening of sorts, that they should have been gone long ago. They couldn't take the violence of the Vietnam war, and the governments power over the people. They had to get out, away from Nixon and the war. Here are the lyrics of Ohio.

NOTE: The first verse of this song tells the tale of not only the "Others" voyage to the new world, but the castaways plane crash. One morning I woke up and knew you were really gone. If you look back at all the flashbacks of the castaways, they are leaving something significant behind. They knew they had to leave and somehow carry on with their lives. Many left lovers and some left family, but the standard scenario was that they were going their way while the ones they left behind went theirs. As for the "Others" they were leaving behind their lives, the war, the hate, the establishment, rules and regulations, technology. Pretty much perfect lyrics.

NOTE: The next highlighted lines speaks of how fast everyone got along at their new tropical island paradise home. For the castaways, most everyone pulled together and pitched in to help. For the "Others" to sing the blues you have to live the tunes. All the "Others" had a hard life, put down by the man, and persecuted for being a hippie, and now, can enjoy solitude on their own island paradise.

NOTE: Beginning with Love is coming, sit back and review in your mind the Lost series. Love is coming to us all. Even the fat guy Hurley, he found Libby. Even the bad guy Sawyer, Sayid found Shannon, Michael reunited with his son Walt, Charlie and Claire, and the many others. A simple hippy credo.

NOTE: The flower children have changed, but are still leery of the past, of their parents who came to this paradise island.

NOTE: Whats going on under the ground? The hatches come into play here. If you remember, the 60's were a turbulent time, and on the brink of world war on several occasions. The flower children knew this so upon arrival to the island, they began to build bomb shelters in case the world decided to destroy itself. Seven hatches would be enough to house the commune, and enough food and animals to repopulate the island after the fallout dissipates.

NOTE: Our House depicts the loving flower children's living environment. Very quiet, loving, calm, everything a flower child would dream of. Notice when the camp was shown, there was a book club, playing football, laughing, conversing. Something right out of the 1950's movies.

NOTE: This song speaks of the cycle of life that is going on with the children of the flower children. The children have no idea what their parents went through before arriving on the island. The parents taught their children about love and freedom. But it is the children who do the teaching as well. The parents have no idea what hell they are putting their children through.
