Lost Update - Season V - 03/04/2009
Why can't you just get it through your head,
It's over, it's over now.
Yes, you heard me clearly now I said,
It's over, it's over now.
I'm not really over you,
You might say that
I can't take it, I can't take it,
Lord, I swear I just can't take it no more.
(Go away) go away,
(Far away) so far away.
It's too late to turn back now,
And it don't matter anyhow.
Is it just me, or did Sawyer, AKA Jim Lafluer, look like Kid Rock when he was back in time in 1974? Seriously, I was expecting Pamela Anderson to walk through one of those cabin doors.
Tonight's episode was all about time with a few tidbits of the main story thrown in to entertain. The castaways kept jumping from time to time until it was finally over. The headaches were gone, the flashing had stopped, the nose bleeds dried up, and time travel was over. Whatever happened happened. (Daniel Faraday) The castaways are trapped in 1974, (Oh the horror, the height of monster bell bottom blue jeans) and separated from Jack, Hurley, Kate, Sayid, Ben, Locke and the rest of the castaways.
However, Sawyer, or Lafluer, moved on from Kate and is getting his groove on with Juliet. At one point tonight, I thought I was watching a classic Leave It To Beaver episode. (Ward, You were pretty hard on the Beaver last night!) Sawyer comes home from a hard day at work. Stops by the garden outside his cottage and picks a flower. Walks in and sees dinner on the table and his main squeeze Juliet, in the kitchen cooking dinner. They embrace, kiss, and exchange "I love you's" to each other.
It's to bad that Sawyer and Juliet have fallen smack dab in the middle of my Lost theory.
Just what is the Grassy Knoll Institutes Lost theory….I’ve been waiting since 1974 to tell you...
Although it appears the survivors of Oceanic flight 815 are on a tropical island, they are being deceived. There is no island. The survivors are in a virtual reality laboratory. All the castaways are interconnected to one another sharing each others thoughts, memories, and feelings. While in this virtual reality laboratory, a battery of physical and mental experiments are performed on them. And who is running these experiments? As Juliet stated, the Aliens of course.
Let's take a closer look at tonight's episode. We see Sawyer and Juliet working together like a well oiled machine. She has his back, kills for him, watches over him, listens to him, and allows him to take command. Sawyer slowly integrates into the Dharma Initiative, he even wears the jump suit. Sawyer and Juliet are living the simple life on the Lost island.
Until the end of tonight's show when Jack, Hurley, and Kate show up. Kate looks longingly at Sawyer, and Sawyer looks at Kate. We all thought the same thing at the same time. (Love triangle) Hey, it's the 70's, a little Ménage à Trois could spice up Lost.
Are you following along here? OK, in a nutshell, Boy meets girl, rolls in the sand, girl meets another boy, rolls in sand with him, boy meets another girl, girl already rolled in sand with the other boy, but girl rolls in the sand with him anyway, boy and girl fall in love, set up house, boy picks flowers, girl cooks dinner, boy and girl roll in the sand, boy and girl believe life is grand. Boy gets phone call after rolling in sand with girl. Boy meets up with girl three years later. Both boy and girl think about the roll in the sand they had previously. And it starts all over again.
Sawyer and Juliet are unknowing subjects in a virtual reality experiment to study the dynamics of human love and relationships. Sawyer and Juliet are put in many different situations and time frames. They are then observed to see how they both adapt and develop. Notice how Sawyer and Juliet are ruthless killers in one scenario, and Ward and June Cleaver in another. Each scenario, they had each other's back, were together, bonded. (And not in the armored car security guard bonded type)
You see folks, my virtual reality theory is real, viable, feasible. The castaways are not on an island, but in a lab, being studied by mysterious men supposedly government type men but in reality, are aliens.
Tidbits From Tonight's Episode:
* Horace Goodspeed. Town drunk, village idiot, and large and in charge.
* Thanks anyway Plato.
* The statue returns. You remember, the four toed statue that was in total disrepair, during one of the flashes, the statue was erect. (Must of got a glimpse of Juliet's cleavage)
* Amy was pregnant, Amy gave birth to a baby boy. Horace is the daddy.
* What the hell is the truce?
* Richard Alpert shows up, defeats the sonic fence defenses, and looks exactly how he did in the future, or the past, or whatever.
* Daniel sees a very young Charlotte in the camp. She waves to him.
* Amy was quite upset when Horace told her Richard wanted Paul's body. What is Richard, some sort of evil gardener that plants dead bodies and watches them grow again?
With Lost not airing a new episode next week, expect to see a special Lost Update shining a light on time travel and what it means to Lost.
About tonight's lyrics, by Boz Scaggs, pegs the episode perfectly, from beginning to the final scene of Kate and Sawyer starring into each others eyes.
Until next week, Get Lost!
LURKING ON THE GRASSY KNOLL
How in the world did they go so far back in time that the gret sculpter that is supposed to be a fot it at its original status, and no ltgyk it was not a messenger or a monkey(ape) it looked more like a god or worshiped idol. And i wonder if rich was livin even that far back.
ReplyDelete-------------------------------------------------
LOTGK Replies:
Perhaps they traveled to the future, and not the past.
Any theories on who the baby could be...it must be someone that we know. I can't remember who had that necklace either
ReplyDelete-------------------------------------------
LOTGK Replies:
I'll just guess Jack, on a whim. I am also wondering about the necklace.
I was wondering about the necklace as well. I seen it somewhere before. And the big tan statue, it was on the show before, when, or is it the big foot broken that Sayid and Kate saw on the boat.
ReplyDelete----------------------------------------
LOTGK Replies:
Yes, I believe it was the broken foot we all saw. But was it in the past we saw it, or the future.
*It was my assumption that Richard wanted Pauls body so that he could take it back to his people to satisfy them that justice had been served for the killing of their two people.
ReplyDelete*The truce, I believe, was what was keeping the Dharma folks and the indigeonous people from massacaring each other. Clearly, something happens in the future to void the truce, because Richard's folks kill off the Dharma folks.
*Speaking of...Since 1974 was clearly prior to Ben Linus gassing his dad and the whole Dharma Initiative at the orders or Richard'd camp, I'm wondering if the problem in the future with women being able to have babies might have something to do with whatever gas was used... you know, a simple biological answer...
*Wasn't Horace one of the first dead guys Locke talked to way back when? He was building a cabin for his wife and kid.... Something like that...gave Locke a valuable piece of information, I just can't remember what it was.
*Forget who wore the necklace. Forget who the baby boy grows up to be. I want to know why Sawyer's hair isn't as blonde any more. :(

LOTGK Replies:
Why bring back a dead body, the truce is already broken. Unless they observe some old style Greek death ritual. Two coins for the boatman.
Why do we watch this show? Still wondering what Sawyer whispered to Kate before he jumped out of the hellicopter.
ReplyDelete--------------------------------------
LOTGK Replies:
Hw whispered, don't ever come back here.
If you go back and watch the seasons lost leaves you with unanswered questions every week. They never answer them either. The writers just leave you with more questions so you forget about the old ones. The show is called lost because they are making up the story line as they go and we are the ones that are lost. It will be a big joke in the end. Just like a fraternity pledge. They screw with your mind and in the end nothing really meant anything.
ReplyDelete------------------------------------------
LOTGK Replies:
Sounds a lot like the Twilight Zone. They give you the answer, but the viewer cannot accept it.
i think horaces son is carl
ReplyDelete------------------------------------
LOTGK Replies:
If it were 1974, they Carl would be 30 in 2004, so I don't think it's him.
This show is really almost to the point where I don't even want to watch it anymore. There are too many questions, and not many answers. I do not see how the writers are going to be able to tie everything together by the end of this season, and the next one. I myself, am Lost!
ReplyDelete----------------------------------
LOTGK Replies:
And thats exactly where the writers want you. Lost!
Horace's son isnt Carl.... Carl is too young, he wasnt born in 1974
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell is going on with the time frame? If Jack, Kate and Hurley got off the island in present time, and Sawyer, juliet and Daniel got stuck in the past. How did they all meet up in the same timeline? VR anybody?
ReplyDelete---------------------------------------
LOTGK Replies:The writers are deliberately messing with Einstein's thoery od special relativity. Read my update a few back. Since Einstein deemed it impossible, I have to agree.
I am sure the baby boy is of some significance, or will be.
ReplyDeleteThe necklace seemed familiar to me too.
Was it Sun that took off in the boat with the pilot?
I wouldn't be surprised if Richard's people eat the dead. "The dude with the eyeliner" is creepy.
I actually prefer Sawyer with Juliette and I love him as a leader.

LOTGK Replies:
Some say its the baby Jesus.
Nothing would surprise me with Richard.
And Juliet is a hottie.
the big statue is of an egyptian god named Horus. Does the Egyptian God Horus have anything to do with time passing, the sun rising, etc etc.
ReplyDeleteYes, he certainly did. He was a solar and sky god. He had many forms among which were Harakhthes "Horus of the Horizons" and Harmakhis "Horus Residing in the Horizon". Both of these are manifestations of him as the sun-god passing from one world to the next on a daily basis. Very often he was also syncretized with Re as Re-Harakhthes. He was cyclical as a sun god, and also cyclical as the incarnation of kingship, since each king who died became Osiris, and each new king to succede became Horus as Harendotes "Horus Avenger of His Father". even though its spelled differently Horace Godspeed is a decendent of the statue is my guess. I forget what the neclace is called but it is an egyptian symbol for eternal life. mabey the island is the LOST island of Atlants. legend says Atlants was a magical place. And with all the religious and mytholgy connections on LOST it would make sence. The Bible tells the story of the impossible such as the emmaculate conception or parting of the red sea or the ressurection of jesus. my theory is Lost is just a present day version of what will be the story of the bible for the people of the island/alternate universe in the future 2000 years. its hard to explain so im sorry if you dont get what i mean

LOTGK Replies:
I still think the statue is the lawgiver, from planet of the apes.
Har-Sa-Iset/Harsiesis
ReplyDeleteThis is the form of Horus that is most familiar, the son of Osiris and Isis. He was conceived magically after the death of Osiris, and Isis hid him away on an island to protect him from Set. In this form he is worshipped as an infant and is beseeched to gain his mother's protection for the worshipper. The most popular story of Horus is the one in which he grows to manhood to avenge the death of his father Osiris by battling against his cruel uncle Set. In many writings, he is said to continue to battle Set daily to ensure the safety of the world. Island? Safety of the world? sounds alot like Lost huh?

LOTGK Replies:
Sounds a lot like Star Gate SG1.
Finally, a site with intelligent theories! Here's mine (similar to the alien one): They're all part of a mass hyponosis - by a psychotherapist - who's trying to help them get over something or someone that they've "lost."

LOTGK Replies:
Hey, I resemble that remark.
Look at the season five promo poster. Alot of our answers are there. For example Faraday is missing his left foot. Is that saying that the four toed left foot was a statue of Faraday. Also they are all in an room in the city but the jungle is inside the room. Kinda confirming the virtual reality statement.
ReplyDeleteFox, not unless Faraday only has four toes.
ReplyDeleteno one's mentioned Paul's anhk. It showed up twice in this episode.
ReplyDeleteN Y nick, amazing you mention atlantis!!! has been a potential theory of mine and my brothers for some time, like maybe a small piece was not lost into the ocean when the city went down. at the same time incorporating the labotory theory into it but by eliens? didnt didnt david lindelof shot down the theory of eliens?
ReplyDeletesomeone mentioned the poster in the room with jungle trees around the characters also the alternite season 5 pictures shows the ones who left and the ones who stayed with there appropriete backgrounds but under the same skys ? i just really hope this thing has a defined finish but then again like yall said the show is called "lost"
ReplyDeleteIt cannor be Atlantis, the plane crash happened in the Pacific ocean.
ReplyDeleteSome say it was in the south pacific but you'd never find it on any map.
ReplyDeleteThey found it on Google Maps!!!
ReplyDeletehey, why cant the child be ben
ReplyDelete.., maybe i missed something, but couldn;t it be?
hmm my bad i remember now, The Man Behind the Curtain"
ReplyDeletesorry i never liked that season much,
With Lost, it could be anyone.
ReplyDeleteThe baby couldn't be Ben because we saw Horace and Amy help his mother and father deliver him in the woods. That's why after his wife dies, Ben's dad is invited to the island to begin with.
ReplyDeleteThe baby is Dr. Ethan Throm. It's the guy who kidnapped Claire in one of the early seasons. Charlie kills Ethan in season two maybe?
ReplyDeleteSorry for no update last night. I am returning from Las Vegas. Will have an update later tonight.
