Lost Update - Season V - 03/18/2009
I, I will be king
And you, you will be queen
Though nothing will drive them away
We can beat them, just for one day
We can be Heroes, just for one day
And you, you can be mean
And I, I'll drink all the time
'Cause we're lovers, and that is a fact
Yes we're lovers, and that is that
Though nothing, will keep us together
We could steal time,
just for one day
We can be Heroes, for ever and ever
What do you say?
What the hell time is it anyway? Sorry for the late Lost update, or, if you are in Sawyers time zone, I'm 32 years early. So I guess we're even. I was on an airplane, Southwest, coming back to Youngstown from Las Vegas while Lost was airing. It wasn't flight 815, I checked, but it was close, Flight 181.
Tonight's update title and song lyrics, Heroes, penned by Glam Rocker David Bowie, was released in the fall of 1977. (Hey, what a coincidence, Sawyer, Miles, Juliet, and the gang are stuck in 1977) (See how I tie this all in) (Do you also see how I use parenthesis way to much) After reading the lyrics, (You did read them didn't you, they are important in tonight's update. Seriously, this time I'm not lying to you like Ben Linus always does) you will see my theory is embedded in the lyrics above.
Just what is the Grassy Knoll Institutes Lost theory….I’ve been waiting 32 years to tell you…..
Although it appears the survivors of Oceanic flight 815 are on a tropical island, they are being deceived. There is no island. The survivors are in a virtual reality laboratory. All the castaways are interconnected to one another sharing each others thoughts, memories, and feelings. While in this virtual reality laboratory, a battery of physical and mental experiments are performed on them. And who is running these experiments? As Juliet stated, the Aliens of course.
The island has come full circle tonight. (Well, actually last night. Remember, I'm a day late on updates) When first we discovered the Dharma Initiative, we learned Ben's little secret and the fate of the group. (Ben killed them all with help from Richard Alpert, the supposed leader of the others, or the hostiles, or the originals) Now Sawyer and the castaways are propelled back in time to 1974, and became indoctrined into the group, and Sawyer becomes head of security, and gets the blond bombshell, Juliet, and they set up house and live happy little lives. Cue the Disney theme music of Circle of Life. I just can't wait to be king.....
Until....
Kate, Jack, Sayid, Sun, Hurley, and Ben return. And begin the cycle of history repeating itself with the demise of the Dharma Initiative. We saw the tension between Sawyer, Kate, Jack and Juliet, (Read the lyrics over again, "Yes we're lovers, and that is that. Though nothing, will keep us together.)
Sawyer's reign is about to come to an end. Jack doesn't like what's happening, Sayid has stirred up trouble, and Kate, well, is the catalyst to have the whole shibang go up in flames.
You see, the virtual reality experiment has been reset at the beginning of season five. All the rules and parameters have been changed. Jack is now the workman, Sawyer is now the man in charge. Juliet is no longer with Jack, but with Sawyer. Kate is no longer with Sawyer, but together with Jack. Locke is the new Ben, Ben is the new Locke.
Remember long ago, I told you that the castaways are merely lab rats, tools, to be experimented on physically and mentally. Once results are studied and confirmed, new variables are inserted in the scenario and the experiment begins anew. Season five is the new scenario, the new beginning. The castaways are given new assignments, new roles, new agenda's. Let the analysis continue.
Tidbits From Tonight's Episode:
* We all got to meet baby Ethan. And Horace is the dad. Very peculiar since we were led to believe that Ben murdered the entire camp. perhaps the children were spared.
* Ben's arm, in a sling, apparently heals itself when he gets back to the island. But what about his spinal cord surgery, why didn't he heal.
* I loved it when Sun, after whacking Ben senseless with a boat oar, replied to Lapidus, "I lied!" That's Ben's line.
* Christian Shepherd appears. If the castaways are not dead, then it has to be virtual reality.
* Namaste: Definition, I bow to you.
Until Next Week: Get Lost!
LURKING ON THE GRASSY KNOLL
When Lost first began I had no idea what was happening and I came across your website by searching lost secrets on google, you are top ranked, kudos on that, and after this season 5 so far, I think you may have a shot of virtual reality coming into play on lost. The alien intervention is another thing, but possible.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering when you were going to post. This last epsidoe brings a lot of questions. How did Ben know a plane would need a runway. How did Bens arm heal but his back wouldn't. When did Sawyer become the head honcho. Why was Sayid in handcuffs. I can't wait for this years finale. Rumor has it that they are going to show us the direction of season six.
ReplyDeleteYou have it pegged straight away Pat. I believe it is twilight zone or virtual reality related. With Jacks dad who is dead appearing to more than just Jack, it has to be. And I knew you when.
ReplyDeleteI want to know why Sun, Ben, the pilot didn't jump to the same time Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, and Ben did. What does Sun, Ben, and the pilot have in common. Christian is obviously in a time where the island is no longer. Maybe he is the one trying to save the island. One thing we have to remember is Christian is dead. He was dead before the island was a thought in anyone's mind.
ReplyDeleteSince they were supposed to recreate the plane crash as accurately as possible, Sun Ben and Lapidus became the tail section survivors. And like the original group showed up and combined later.
ReplyDeleteI think it all has to do with Jughead and the prevention of it setting off.
ReplyDeletesun ben and locke are in present time and the others are in (77)
ReplyDeleteFox,
ReplyDeleteWhy are we to think Christian is dead? Because he was dead on the first plane? He could very well have become undead during the crash. After all, Locke just did.
serena I was thinking the same thing
ReplyDeleteChristian is able to move too freely through time and space. He is different than everyone else. He knows more than everyone else. Christian was dead before they went to the island. So why would a dead guy know the answers to everyone's questions? That's what needs to be explored. Why does Christian know when the people are? How does he know how to get there? In what situation would you be asking a dead guy for answers? Maybe when you are going into the ligt? Maybe the island is your last chance to show what kind of person your are before judgement is passed. Maybe that's why kids get a free pass. All kids go to heavan.
ReplyDeleteThe island is where the guys at the pearly gates press every emotion button in your body to see your true colors. Locke passed but Michael didn't. Pretty cut and dry who is going where. After the scene in the church with Ben and Jack I am sticking with a religious season six.
ReplyDeleteBig Mouth-
ReplyDeleteThank you, and I think I do have a one in amillion shot at being correct.
Number 1-
Good questions, wondered about Ben's arm as well, unless he was faking, and it wasn't really hurt.
Max-
Absolutely. I won't forget you. I promise.
Fox-
I liken it to Jin jumping around trying to catch up to the others as well. And what luck that Jack, Kate, and Hurley arrive at the exact time as Sawyer after the three years of the island jumping through time and space. Sort of like finding a needle in a haystack. Pretty impossible unless they aren't traveling in time, but in a controled environment, such as virtual reality.
Haiku-
possibly, but with Lost, who really knows.
Paul-
The Jughead bomb is a key element for sure. Just as the nuclear bomb threat on the television series The New People, written by Rod Serling, creator of the Twilight Zone.
Dee-
My point is, what is present time to the island?
Serena-
Or, when the plane crashed, it crashed in the past, before Christian was dead, or, it was a simulation and the castaways are in a controlled environment.
Fox-
Exactly. How would Christian know answers to questions he was not alive to know. Unless he isn't dead, and is but a manipulation of the mind and spirit of the castaways being controlled by virtual reality.
Fox-
Religion for sure is embedded in Lost. My problem is, everyone has a different faith, some believe in heaven, Jesus, Bhudda, Mohammed, Festivus, or no God at all. How are they going to satisfy the viewers?
LOTGK the present time is 3yrs after plane 815 crashed which might be 07 I think. My question is why are locke and sun in that time frame? Ben we see is at the darma camp but what explains sun and locke? Also I know christian aint dead..unless locke is too.
ReplyDeleteThe series began in September of 2004. the castaways have been on the island approximately 108 days. So, for the show, the present time is early 2005.
ReplyDeleteThe reality is that with all the time shifts, no one really knows what time frame they are in unless it is given.
yea but they left the island for tthree yrs,I think when they crashed again it was just like the 1st time in sept 04 just three yrs later in off island time.
ReplyDeleteAgain, there in lies the twist. No one except the writers know the true time period they are in. My point was and is, when the plane originally crashed, who is to say it crashed in 2004. Perhaps it crashed in 1974, 1977, 1865, 2004, 2007, 2015, 1953, or any other time you want to plug in.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the writers will tie in the suspected time travel of the castaways in season six.
