2012 Best Halloween Costume Winners

Best Halloween Costume 2012 Grassy Knoll Institute
For 2012, the Dark Zone has more than one winner for the best Halloween costume. Every year I travel to many trade shows and conventions and of course the Halloween themed ones are the most fun. I snapped this photo at the January 2012 Halloween show inside the George R. Brown convention center in Houston, Texas.

I have to give props to these models as their job is far more difficult than it looks. These women must stay in costume for 8 hours a day usually changing costumes several times a day. Notice the shoes they are wearing. Imagine standing in those puppies all day. The Dark Zone salutes you.

PS: Click the photo twice to enlarge to read what the sign says the blonde is holding.

Happy Halloween 2012

Best Halloween Costume #3 - A Pink Nightmare

One of the most popular Christmas holiday movies is the 1983 hit, A Christmas Story. Over the years it has become a cult classic as replica’s of the props from the movie have become sought after gifts for birthdays and Christmas. I have the leg lamp.

In the past several years, A Christmas Story has filtered into the Halloween Holiday. The Pink Nightmare, (Ralphies Christmas present from his aunt, a complete pink colored bunny suit made for a girl) a full sized leg lamp, and the FRAGILE crate the leg lamp was delivered in.

I guarantee that you will see one of these Halloween costumes at one of your parties this October.

Best Halloween Costume #1 - Watermelon Smile

Meet Laughing Lisa, the Joey Chestnut of watermelon eating fame. Lisa ate 55 watermelon halves in 5 minutes. Her face paint is fantastic and her watermelon prop completes her costume. A most excellent post to kick off the 2011 Best Halloween Costume.

Thought Screen Helmet - Pumpkin Head

Even Icabod Is Protected
For the upcoming Halloween season, manufacturers at the Thought Screen Helmet factory are offering a special design for parties and events. We aptly call it, The Pumpkin Head.

You won't have to worry about pesky aliens using telepathy to force you to do things against your will while wearing the pumpkin head. Each helmet is precision designed and lined with velostat, (The magical material that blocks alien telepathic thoughts from entering your brain) to ensure complete protection. Now all you have to worry about is if you will win best costume at your party.
