Uptown Pizza Chicken Wings

Uptown Pizza Chicken Wings
Uptown Pizza Chicken Wings
Uptown Pizza in Boardman, Ohio has more than just pizza. They also have wings. I ordered 6 wings cost was $4.49 but beware if you order anything else with them. I called and placed an order for pickup for a pizza and wings. The dude told me 30 minutes. Cool, no problem. I waited the 25 minutes since Uptown is only five minutes away from me. I walked in and announced my name, (Grassy Knoll) and the counter employee looked at my receipt and said just a few more minutes.

Waiting at the counter I saw something move on the ceiling. Don't panic, it wasn't bugs or snakes, but water. It was raining outside and now it was raining inside. Not just a drop or two, but the flow would fill a bucket in a few minutes. (If there was a bucket) I carefully moved my pizza away from the rain that was dropping on the counter. Nothing worth than a wet pizza. My wings were finished and the employee rang up (Not wrung out) my pizza order and I was on my way. As stated before, the pizza was well cooked, and dry. No rain. Sauce and cheese plentiful. Still a little greasy. The wings well cooked and crunchy batter. Good tasting. A little pricey but hey what pizza shop boasts an indoor waterfall.

Uptown Pizza - Regular 12 Inch Cheese

Uptown Pizza Youngstown Ohio
Uptown Pizza Youngstown Ohio
Uptown Pizza is right around the corner from us. It is a conveinent place to eat when time is fleeting. (Madness takes it’s toll) I called and placed my order and was told twenty minutes for pickup. Standard, no problem.

I got there about five minutes early and bellied up to the counter to wait for my name to be called out. I love when my name gets called out for pickup. I always tell them either “Grassy Knoll” or “Second Shooter” when they ask for my name.

Anyway, as I was waiting, the phone rang and one of the employees answered. The conversation went something like, “Uptown pizza,” then a pause, then a “Yes mam, we do sell pizza.” Pause. “Yes, we are open right now.” Pause. “Yes, I’m in the store right now.” Pause. “Ok.” Click the phone down, hang-up.

A minute later, the same employee yells out “Second shooter” and looks at me knowing who I am. I pay the man and as I begin to leave, I ask him if they sell pizza here at Uptown Pizza. He burst out laughing.

I must say, the pizza is well cooked, with a firm enough crust, not hard, but a good texture. The cheese was melted and the sauce zesty enough. I ordered sausage on half and it was cooked under the cheese and was a good spicy sausage. The cost was reasonable, at $7.00 for a 12 inch pizza.
One negative, and it’s small, but the pizza itself was greasy, just a little.

Uptown Pizza

Uptown Pizza
Uptown Pizza is one of many pizza choices in Youngstown.

Location: Uptown Pizza, 2940 Belmont Ave, Liberty, 330-759-6907

The Order:. 12 inch pizza with pepperoni.

The Service: A quick phone call, courteous employee's and speedy service. The pizza was ready in the 20 minutes they said it would be.

The Taste: The pizza was hot, the box did not collapse smashing the cheese, and the slices were all completely cut and separated. The crust was cooked and crisped just right. The pepperoni was under the cheese and cooked with the pizza instead of being an after thought. The pizza was well cooked and not soggy or doughy.

Presentation: A solid sturdy white cardboard pizza box with Uptown Pizza logo touting both locations.

The Value: $6.95 for a single topping 12 inch pizza is a pretty good standard deal. The pepperoni topping was not skimped on.

The Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. Grassy Knoll Diner recommends Uptown Pizza for lunch.
