Lost Update - Season Six - 02/16/2010
I feel like just another
Spoke in a great big wheel
Like a tiny blade of grass
In a great big field
I'm just another statistic on a sheet
To teachers I'm just another child
To IRS I'm just another file
I'm just another consensus on the street
Gonna cruise out of this city
Head down to the sea
Gonna shout out at the ocean
Hey it's me
And I feel like a number
Feel like a number
Feel like a stranger
A stranger in this land
I feel like a number
I'm not a number
I'm not a number
Dammit I'm a man
I said I'm a man
4-Locke 8-Reyes 15-Ford 16-Sayid 23-Shepherd 42-Kwon
Every castaway being tracked and categorized just as if they were participating in a large scale experiment.
Tonight we got a peak at the meaning of the magical numbers that keep popping up for the castaways. But I knew what the numbers meant. I posted it five years ago in my Lost update for October 19th, 2005.
CASE STUDY # 481516.23 VOLUME 42
STUDY COMPLETED TO SATISFACTION…..
And that my friends, is exactly what my Lost theory is all about.
Just what is the Grassy Knoll Institutes Lost theory….I’ve been waiting six years to tell you…..
Although it appears the survivors of Oceanic flight 815 are on a tropical island, they are being deceived. There is no island. The survivors are in a virtual reality laboratory. All the castaways are interconnected to one another sharing each others thoughts, memories, and feelings. While in this virtual reality laboratory, a battery of physical and mental experiments are performed on them. And who is running these experiments? As Juliet stated, the Aliens of course.
Tonight we got reminded by the MIB of Jacob visiting all the castaways before they arrived on the island. Did everyone notice that John Locke during his side ways flash also interacted with the castaways. Perhaps tonight's official Lost title, The Substitute literally means substitute. Locke is the substitute for Jacob.
Case in point. Locke and Helen are talking about the business card of Jacks. John says he met Jack in lost baggage claim and that he offered a free consult. What are the odds of running into a spinal surgeon? Perhaps it's destiny. I am sure that in future episodes, Locke will come into contact with all the castaways Just as he did with Jack, Hugo, Rose, etc.
Sawyer got reminded by the MIB that not many people get a second chance in life. Unless of course, you are an unknown specimen in an experiment being conducted through the use of virtual reality. In that scenario, you get plenty of chances but none seem to get him off the island. Seriously, what are the odds that his plane crashed. His sub blew up, the raft sank, the freighter sank, the chopper was too heavy. All these disasters in a mere 108 days! Something is keeping him on the island. And that something is virtual reality.
Moving on,
John Locke confesses to Helen that he is sick of imagining what his life could be if he were able to get out of his wheel chair. He was tired of waiting for a miracle. Locke was done playing the game. The virtual reality game.
MIB leads Sawyer to a cave entrance on the side of the mountain. inside is a justice scale with two stones, a white and a black one. MIB takes the white stone forcing the scale to tip in favor of the black stone. MIB than throws the stone into the ocean. A pivotal point here folks. MIB is once again changing the parameters of the experiments. Perhaps what once was good is now evil, or perhaps substitutes are being plugged in to finish the end game. (Perhaps I say perhaps to much! Perhaps!)
Believe it or not but I am a religious type person. I recognized something in tonight's episode. A story from the bible. About Lucifer, a beautiful angel that was cast into the pits of hell trapping him for eternity for challenging God's will. Hence, the birth of evil versus good. MIB told Sawyer he was trapped. For a very very long time. He remembers that he used to be a man, have feelings, love, and all he wants is to be free again. Just like Lucifer. He even tempts Richard and Sawyer into following him. He tells them if they follow him, he will tell them everything they want to know especially what their purpose is on the island. Richard knows MIB is evil.
Tidbits from tonight's episode:
* Did you notice Helen's shirt, it said Peace & Karma on it. Something that Locke received tonight. (Just saying!)
* And Helen has a nice rack. (Just saying!)
* Ben lied to Llana about killing Locke. Ben always lies.
* Notice the beginning of the episode, the island was in the point of view of the smoke monster and then a machete is focused on and Locke appears. (Subtle! NOT!)
* Don't worry, I didn't forget about the little boy who looked a hell of a lot like Jacob. MIB seemed to be afraid of him. The young man warns MIB, you know the rules, you can't kill him.
* Locke is surprised that Sawyer can see the young boy.
* The numbers, the castaways are candidates to take over. Take over what, the island? Some become the Others, some good, evil, shoemakers?
* MIB gives Sawyer three options. Play out the scenario and see what happens. Accept the position as the new Jacob and protect the island. And three, both Locke and Sawyer just leave and get the hell off the island and go home. Sawyer chooses number three.
But we all know how previous attempts to leave the island worked....
Until next week, Get Lost!
Addendum:
Damn Damn Damn!
Last night I posted the wrong Lost title and lyrics. Nowhere Man is slated for a future episode. Tonight was all about the numbers. Bob Segers Feel Like A Number is the title and lyrics for this one.
LURKING, STILL LOST ON THE GRASSY KNOLL
I wonder why Kate doesn't have a number.
ReplyDeleteMIB wants Sawyer off the island, he is threatened by him for some reason... most likely because he could be the next Jacob. Sawyer will see through it though, he's smart that way.
My son texted me at the beginning of the show and asked me who Helen is. I texted back "Peg Bundy."
Women can't fill Jacob's position that is why Kate doesn't have a number. Kwon is Jin not Sun.
ReplyDeleteSo we know what the numbers mean. Finally a concrete answer. Why is Llana so upset about Jacob, and I'm pretty sure she got a boob job. Do you think she is sad because Jacob died before he got to see her new rack?
ReplyDeleteIf this is taking a religous spin refer to psalm 40. "I waited patiently and the Lord heard my cry" Maybe the answer to the island is to stop trying so hard.
ReplyDeleteLike MIB says to Sawyer, Jacob spent his whole life protecting the island, but from what. If Jacob wouldn't have protected it, would it still be there?
By the way. Sayid came back to life because he was still a candidate. That's why the people at the temple were so worried that he might a died. That's why the people at the temple let Kate leave because she isn't a candidate. Locke went to that cave to see who was left, because he doesn't want another Jacob. If MIB can rid the island of the candidates left then MIB wins.
I knew I liked that Man In Black. He reminds me of someone. Its right on the tip of my tongue. :)
ReplyDeleteGod was pissed at me for he saw that I was more beautiful and loved more by the angels so he cast me out to eliminate any competition. That is what is happening on your precious Lost program. God=Jacob - MIB=Lucifer
ReplyDeleteThink the "real" Locke will rise from the dead in 3 days?
ReplyDeleteDamn Damn Damn!
ReplyDeleteLast night I posted the wrong Lost title and lyrics. Nowhere Man is slated for a future episode. Tonight was all about the numbers. Bob Segers Feel Like A Number is the title and lyrics for this one.
I thought for sure when Sawyer slipped off the rope ladder and MIB caught him, that MIB would make a deal with him. Either join him or he would let Sawyer fall to his death. Sort of like Satan bargaining for your soul.
ReplyDeleteAnd as quick as I saw, I didn't see any of the women with a number attached to them, except may Sun, but it could be referring to Jin.
Yea, and Peg was very healthy. :D
ReplyDeleteOK, there's your answer Ben, Fox thinks women cannot fill the role of Jacob and therefore have no number.
ReplyDeleteWhen Sawyer asked what do the numbers by the names mean, MIB said that Jacob had a thing about numbers, and sort of blew it off.
ReplyDeleteIt sure did look like Llana was sporting a little extra last night. Perhaps it was her clothes, maybe they shrunk a little. :D
ReplyDeleteBut the people in the Temple let Sawyer leave as well. They could have stopped him. And it appears he is a strong candidate. And, if MIB wants the candidates off the island, why wouldn't he have let Sawyer drop to his death when they were on the rope ladder? Methinks MIB needs Sawyer to do something, like he had Ben kill Jacob.
ReplyDeleteHe does remind me of you but he's a much better actor with a better personality.
ReplyDeleteThe anti-christ quoting the bible. Now Lost has really turned bizarre. :D
ReplyDeleteGood call 4 stones. But, since Llana said MIB was trapped in the body of Locke it would be a very interesting spin to see both Locke's on the island and the castaways not knowing which one was who. Back to the old black and white motiff, good and evil, and the castaways have to choose. The experiment conducted is, which path will each select, and why?
ReplyDeleteLOTGK i havnt said anything in a long time but you better be damn sure i check your post every week religiously and this has been one hell of a ride thank you for all your thoughts and hard work this has been really cool.
ReplyDeleteSawyer left by force. He had a gun, the only way to stop him was to kill him. The people at the temple know they can't kill a candidate. Kate said she was going after him and they let her, Jin offered to join kate and they sent the two guards along for the walk through the jungle.
ReplyDeleteMIB needs Sawyer to kill Jacob. The only problem is who is Jacob. My sources tell me Sayid is Jacob. How interesting will it be for Locke and Sayid to square off....
ReplyDeleteI agree that Kwon is Jin, not Sun. In the flash sideways, when Jin/Sun were stopped at the airport, wasn't she addressed by her maiden name? Paik?
ReplyDeleteCASE STUDY # 481516.23 VOLUME 42
ReplyDeleteSTUDY COMPLETED TO SATISFACTION…..
What exactly do you mean by this? Confused. I see the numbers but what case study?
Whats up with Llana collecting ash where Jacob was burned up ? Could it be ash that they spread around to keep MIB out ?
ReplyDeleteSexist pricks.
ReplyDeleteThey planted Locke in the graveyard o' sand. He won't be back... not in that body at least... and if he does come back all the soap in Fight Club won't get rid of his death stench.
ReplyDeleteA FEW QUESTIONS... 1ST if the girls mean nothing about ruling the island, then why did jacob visit Kate? 2nd if the lil kid was jacob why say u cant kill him instead of u cant kill me? 3rd Ben did kill john so how is that a lie, to Liana? and why wasnt micheal or walt a num.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much. And yes we are rapidly approaching the finale. I anticipate it being bigger than the MASH finale. And I hope some aliens show up. :D
ReplyDeleteBut if they cannot kill a candidate, then why did they want to poison Sayid, who is a candidate?
ReplyDeleteJacob is already dead. Shot by Ben and kicked into the fire. Llana collected some of his ashes. But then MIB sees a young boy resembling Jacob.
ReplyDeleteWhy would MIB Sawyer to kill Jacob if he's already dead?
I did not notice that tidbit. Good call.
ReplyDeleteIt is from my October 19th, 2005 Lost update where I reveal the series finale. I combined the numbers as a case study of the castaways, as tests were performed on them, both mentally and physically, with the help of a virtual reality program so the subjects were not aware they were being experimented on. In essence, the castaways are lab rats.
ReplyDeleteHere is the entire Lost Update that explains in detail.
Lost Series Finale Exposed
Dude, thank you for reading and commenting and sending us all this most excellent Lost theory. However, this was copied from my blog. Here is the link to the main Twilight Zone Link and also the page where this text was copied from. Lost in The twilight Zone
ReplyDeleteSecond, this is not from the Sci-Fi series, The Outer Limits. It is based on Rod Serling's Twilight Zone.
Much like the mystical phoenix, perhaps Jacob dying is merely a circle of life who has died the same way many times over. After all, there was plenty of ash surrounding the cabin and the Temple crew had plenty of ash to surround the temple.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Juliet is a top candidate. She is more than likely one of the the most intelligent Losties. She adapts well, knows how to handle a gun, and seriously, she is first choice to be stranded on the island with.
ReplyDeleteAnd I won't even mention her amazing rack. Those sexist pricks. :D
Don't forget the first rule of fight club....
ReplyDeleteAnd don't forget the first rule of Lost. Ben Linus always lies.
ReplyDeleteExcellent point Dee. Why would Jacob waste his time?
ReplyDeleteSecond, perhaps Jacob wasn't referring to him, but to Sawyer. you can't kill Sawyer!
3rd, in the statue chamber, Ben says that MIB killed Jacob. Only later during Lockes burial does he admit that he murdered Locke.
4th, they might be, as well as the women. Perhaps Michael is number 11, Kate 3, Rose, 7, etc. We just haven't seen them shown to us yet.
HAHAHAHA I thought this seemed eerily familiar when I read it!
ReplyDeleteWell, for some reason i think The little boy that people are suggesting is Jacob i think its Arron, just as walt appeared when he wasnt meant to be on the island. and my theory about MIB being a shapeshifter was correct still i think this "MIB" was jacks dad Maybe polar Bear, but i strongly believe that the dog "vincent" was also "MIB" as he knows alot about the castaways and has no contact with Jacob to tell him who these people are, Some reshearch about the dog;
ReplyDeleteWhen Vincent wandered into the jungle in Special, Walt ran after him and inadvertently found himself under the attack of a polar bear.
Vincent ran up to Boone in the jungle and licked his face just before the murdered body of Steve would be found on the beach in Homecoming.
When the raft was getting ready to set sail, Walt placed Vincent in the care of Shannon stating that he could help her get over the loss of Boone as he was a good listener. When Shannon lost Vincent, she wandered into the jungle with Sayid to find him and spotted a soaking wet vision of Walt in the middle of the jungle.
Vincent befriended Ana-Lucia when she had food in The Hunting Party. Vincent was also present just before Sun was attacked in The Whole Truth, however; he did not defend her or alert anyone to this (possibly because he was familiar with Charlie).
While a grave was being dug for Nikki and Paulo, who were presumed dead in Exposé, Vincent pulled on the tarp that was covering them, completely removing it and exposing their bodies.Shannon was shot by Ana-Lucia after following Vincent into the jungle looking for Walt
Vincent brings Hurley the human arm with the key to the Dharma bus, then leads him to the bus. , Also Vincent in Epi 1, watched jack and kate and charlie going to the cock pit then next thing we see is the Smoke . Also hurley to get the keys to the van tht will eventully Aid him in killing the others when the rest of the castaways go to the radio tower I think this MIB let this happen as he knew it would lead up to the events of getting them off the island with would able them to come back and for MIB to take over Lockes body. Also i have a feeling that this "MIB" is a woman
What do you guys think?
I thought the song by Iggy Pop "Search and Destroy" had tons of lyrics that related to the smoke monster....
ReplyDeleteI'm a street walking cheetah
with a hide full of napalm
I'm a runaway son of the nuclear A-bomb
I am a world's forgotten boy
The one who searches and destroys
Honey gotta help me please
Somebody gotta save my soul
Baby detonates for me
Look out honey, 'cause I'm using technology !
Ain't got time to make no apology
Soul radiation in the dead of night
Love in the middle of a fire fight
Honey gotta strike me blind
Somebody gotta save my soul
Baby penetrates my mind
And I'm the world's forgotten boy
The one who's searchin', searchin' to destroy
And honey I'm the world's forgotten boy
The one who's searchin', searchin' to destroy
Forgotten boy, forgotten boy
Forgotten boy said
hey forgotten boy
that song was playing when the MIB was searching for Sawyer
ReplyDeleteGirls no nothing about ruling anything... This is a mans world and I imagine the island is no different.
ReplyDeleteWasn’t the name of the ship where Ford kills the con artist “Sawyer” called the Black Rock? And isn’t the ship in Charles Whitmores office…was he the MIB? Is the “Black Rock” refering to the black rock on the scale…thoughts
ReplyDeleteIts like somehow we all teleported back in time and relived our lives again only to wind up exactly where we started. :D
ReplyDeleteGood call shape, the boy could certainly be Aaron, because frankly, who knows what time the castaways are living in season six. Maybe Juliet and her bomb explosion propelled the castaways a little to far into the future.
ReplyDeleteAnd for sure Christian has an important role for the end game.
And to be honest, I forgot all about the dog Vincent. Not to be blunt, but when an animal flies on planes, it is caged up in the cargo hold. An almost zero percent chance of survival. Perhaps MIB has always been Vincent. However, except when Llana said that MIB was trapped in Locke's body. Maybe MIB assumed the dogs body and waited for the right person to die.
MIB certainly could be a woman. Man and Woman. Adam and Eve. Garden of Eden. Maybe we are watching the Genesis story unfold before our very eyes.
Adam and Eve. They have two sons, Cain and Abel. One is good, (Jacob) one evil. (MIB) The island is Eden. Once Adam was tempted and ate from the tree of knowledge, all hell broke loose and ever since they have been trying to fix it.
Very good lyrics and they fit very well to old smoky and MIB.
ReplyDeletePrepare to be boarded!!!!
ReplyDelete:D
I'm kinda wondering about the lyric...i'm a runaway son of a nuclear A bomb and if it has any connection to the one they found
ReplyDeleteI am surprised I was sure that response would stir things up.
ReplyDeleteWow I never even put that together. I am very impressed and you probably just unlocked something that the writers haven't told us yet.
ReplyDeletebut then why cant sawyer die? john was a number and he died...wait sayid was a number he died and came back, hey mabey thats why the MIB took over johns body cause on the island those few people with the numbers on that rock...CANT DIE!!!
ReplyDeleteSayid may be Jacob, or the new Jacob. The kid may be Aaron.
ReplyDeleteChristian was MIB, so Claire is now on the dark side. If I remember correctly Christian only showed up at the shack only after the ashe circle was broken.
A member of the Candidates can die, we saw it with Locke, and every other crossed off name on the cave wall.
Personally, I think it will come down to Shepard vs. Ford as the last two to take over for MIB and Jacob.
Also with arron, Walt appeared much older to locke when he was shot. I cant wait for the Epi on Richard
ReplyDeletePlease elaborate. It's sort of my kind of thing. Linking lyrics to my posts and updates.
ReplyDeleteAs I am.
ReplyDeleteEverything on Lost seems to be connected. Dort of like they are all in some sort of virtual reality chamber being experimented on without their knowledge.
ReplyDelete:D
With Lost. Anyone can die. A good portion of the original cast has died already. But, also with Lost, those that died can come back. So, Sawyer can die and he can come back to life.
ReplyDeleteMaybe when young Locke was being tested by Richard as a little boy and he chose poorly, perhaps he was eliminated from being a candidate. Sort of ironic or perhaps has everything to do with the show, but young boy Locke chose the knife and that is what Jacob was killed with. A knife.
ReplyDeleteThe Walt conundrum intrigues me. The show debuted in 2004 and now six years later in real time Walt is grown up but on the island, only 108 days have passed. For Walt to appear at the end of the series, the castaways have to be in the future. Unless it was all a flashback and Walt was 12 years old.
ReplyDeleteOr, Virtual reality explains it.... :D
well when they were searching around in dharma time and found the nuclear bomb...also the lyric "cause i'm using technology" and how the smoke monster sounds mechanical...i don't have answers just wondering the reason they chose that song for the smoke monster while it was looking for Sawyer
ReplyDeleteEven if no aliens show up im pretty sure you called virtual reality along time ago! or maybe the island is just an actual majical/special place or maybe in the end we will all be badly what the show is called LOST lets hope thats not it!
ReplyDeleteok...young Locke being tested by Richard had nothing to do with candidacy for whatever is going on now, says I, authoritatively, to sound more convincing in the face of my absolute certainty that I have no idea what is going on.
ReplyDeleteGo back a season or two or three. Hell, it's all running together in my head.
When Locke first approached "the others," he came as their leader. He told them he was from the future. To convince them of who he was, he told them his name and when and where he was born.
So when that time actually came around, Richard left the island, went to the mainland and tested child Locke (several times) to see if he really was who that cocky bald man (grown up Locke)said he was.
Richard was verifying.
I just don't think it's related to whatever is going on now.
While I'm even more confused, I'm convinced that the writers did NOT have an end game and are working desperately to wrap this up. It's a hunch I cannot qualify just yet, but it struck me when I saw the names and numbers on the ceiling of the cave. That was just cheesy.
Excellent point.
ReplyDeleteAnd Jacob didn't just VISIT each of the losties, he touched them. Sometimes in the "He's trying not to be too obvious, but in real life this guy would give you the willies" kind of way.
He touched Cate. He touched Sun. I don't know who else. I'll say again, it's all running togethe r.
I love this theory about Vincent. It seems very solid, except for the fact that everybody knows Golden Retrievers aren't capable of being coniving. Much more likely Vincent is being framed by a cat. ;)
ReplyDeleteAlso, let's not forget that MIB is not inhabiting other people's bodies! He's mimicing them.
He didn't inhabit Locke's body....Locke's body was in a box/laying on the beach/in a shallow sand grave.
And the polar bear's remains were found in the dessert.
I think he CAN look like anything he wants to, but is choosing to look like the things/people that will accomplish his goal...whatever that might be. In other words, it serves him well to look like Locke right now.
But yeah...sounds like something a woman would do. Or a cat.
I would certainly bet the music has a strong tie in to lost mystique. That is one of the reasons why I began using lyrics and song titles as my Lost Update titles.
ReplyDeleteYes, I called virtual reality and the alien connection from the pilot episode. I tossed in the Twilight Zone tie in as well. I believe the writers have an end game and virtual reality is part of it.
ReplyDeleteThat's the thing. What came first, the chicken or the egg? The Lost castaways are in a continuous loop. I surmise that Richard visited Locke many times, all with different outcomes. Waiting for the exactly right scenario, not just for Locke, but for all the castaways. When all the planets (Castaways) align perfectly, welcome to the end game.
ReplyDeleteAs in my previous comment. The castaways are in a continuous loop. Jacob is attempting to flesh out a precise outcome, one that he needs to complete his experiments. When that happens, we will see the end game. Only through virtual reality can this be accomplished, to investigate each scenario one after the other.
ReplyDeleteI'm still pondering what Llana said of MIB. That he cannot leave Lockes body, he is stuck with it.
ReplyDeletePerhaps candidates can kill each other, that's why they wanted Jack to give Sayid the pill.
ReplyDeleteI believe anything and everything is possible on the Lost island. They time travel, peoiple come back from the dead, smoke monsters, etc. Killing comes easy.
ReplyDeleteLost Chronicles
ReplyDeleteThe real ABC Lost series finale episodes found.
The Grassy Knoll Institute came into possession of several reels of film titled ABC Lost Series Finale Arc.
We are convinced the reels are from the 2006-07 strike shortened season that were shelved.
