Beatles Hoax - Paul Is Dead

Beatles Hoax Paul Is Dead
Beatles Hoax Paul Is Dead
Paul is not dead. And the Grassy Knoll Institute says so.
The Beatles Abbey Road Album has been shrouded in rumor and conspiracy from the day it went on sale in 1969. The rumor was / is that Paul McCartney died in a horrific car accident and to keep the most popular and profitable rock and roll band intact the remaining Beatles sought out and found a look alike replacement to carry on. The Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album offered clues of his demise with Paul facing backwards and the cover depicted a funeral scene for the Beatles. There are over 20 clues on the front and back album cover.

The album songs also gave audio clues that Paul was dead. Many people played their old vinyl records backwards to listen to special secret messages. The song, "Strawberry Fields Forever" at the very end has an audio track that said "I'm buried" hinting Paul was dead and in the ground.

Many other songs eluded to the hoax that Paul was dead.

The Walrus was Paul.

"A Day In The Life" depicted the events that led up to Paul's death.

"Come Together" over me as if Paul was in a casket.

Now, to the Abbey Road Album. Many clues are present with this album as well.

First, John is in white depicting an angel leading the dead to heaven. Ringo is dressed in black representing the minister and Paul's mourners. George is last and dressed in blue jeans representing the grave digger. Paul is third, and bare foot and out of step with the other three. Paul is left handed yet he holds a cigarette with his right hand. He has his best suit on, or his burial suit on. Paul is clean shaven.

The Volkswagen on the left, it's license plate says ( 28 IF ) meaning Paul would be 28 years old if he were still alive.

The gates on the left encircle the church from which the funeral service was held.

They are crossing the street on their way to the grave yard off to the right flanked by the black funeral car waiting for the immediate family.

The three lads in the distance represent the three remaining Beatles looking on in disbelief that Paul is dead.

The Grassy Knoll Institute believes this was merely an elaborate hoax intended to sell more records and to generate more press and hype on the Beatles. Some ask why they needed more press than usual. After all, they were the Beatles. Well, remember, back in the 60's and 70's, there was no MTV or cable TV for that matter. And since the Beatles stopped touring doing live shows, their only media blitz was their records and any press they could muster up.

What better way than to invent a hoax to keep the public tuned in to the every move that the Beatles made. Now, they didn't need to tour. The public sought them out. The hoax had worked.

Oh Lord, yes, there are hundreds of clues throughout the Beatles albums and jackets...I believe it was an elaborate plan to keep the buzz on the beatles. The media needed something to write about and since the Beatles no longer toured, and it was long before cable TV and MTV, this was a perfect solution for people to look closely at the albums and play the songs over and over. A brilliant plan indeed.

paul mccartney toured and did many live shows after the beatles...

I know RK, he had several very successful solo albums, plus his group the Candy Stripers and Wings. And I won't mention the duet with Michael Jackson.
Thats why I said it was a great media ploy to create this hoax. It sold millions more albums and kept the Beatles in the news.

Wouldn't it be ironic if Paul McCartney, the one who supposedly died in the 1960's in a terrible car crash, became the sole survivor of the fab four.
John Lennon died in 1980, and George Harrison just last year.

I am not dead. I'm merely fixing a hole where the rain gets in.

  2. The Grassy Knoll's conclusion is laughable to anyone alive at the time the rumor started. The Bealtes stopped touring in 1966, three years earlier. The public had tuned in to every move they made since they broke through in America in 1964. Every album they released was an event eagerly anticipated by all (including their rock and roll peers) that needed no additional publicity whatsoever.

Those who didn't or haven't paid attention don't realize that the Beatles stood for truth every bit as much as they stood for love. Their responses to the rumor? Paul (alive at the time) said, "The people who are making up these rumors should look to themselves a little more. There is not enough time in life. They should worry about themselves instead of worrying whether I am dead or not." John called it "bullshit," and Ringo said it was "a load of crap."

Appropriate descriptions for those who continue to peddle false rumors and conspiracies today.

  3. Ellis Dean,

I was alive during the 1960's, 9 years old and into the Beatles music through my older brothers and sisters.

And please keep in mind, the hoax wasn't only one album, but all of them from 1966 to they broke up. What a coincidence that the hoax began when they stopped touring.

You must have been one of the people duped in attempting to buy the Brooklyn Bridge if you believe the Beatles stood for peace and love. Pull the wool off your eyes dude!

And the reason why they deny it still to this day. Sales. The buzz is still alive even after 40 years. Now that is one hell of a sales gimmick.

  4. Dean, first of all, your comment went to the spam box for you had way to many links embedded in your reply. It is restored, just a couple hours late.

Secondly, you replied quite nicely, stated your facts as you understood them, presented your evidence clear and concisely, but did you happen to notice what site you were commenting on?

You know, the Grassy Knoll Institute, Home Of The 99 Cent Conspiracy!

It's a humorous site, (Hopefully anyway) and usually most visitors realize that. But sometimes I attract an ass clown like you.

Dean, I appreciate you entertaining us here at the Institute. Do please comment on the over 1000 pages offered here. You never know, one of them might actually be true.

  11. I don't know about clues on Penny Lane picture sleeve I was hoping someone could help me out, but here is a good one, take the booklet from Magical Myster Tour hold the black and white photo that was taken with a fish eye lens the one in a dinner car on a train, hold it to a mirror with very little light in the room, hold it upright as you look at it. It will be a perfect scull, it's crazy.
