Lost Update - Bennie And The Jets

Lost Update - Season Six - 03/30/2010

Hey kids, plug into the faithless
Maybe they're blinded
But Bennie makes them ageless
We shall survive, let us take ourselves along
Where we fight our parents out in the streets
To find who's right and who's wrong
Bennie and the jets....

Tonight we got a peek at "Room 23" where all the mind shaping and subliminal messaging occurs. Jin is locked in the room, turns on the switch switching on the program. When we first saw Room 23 several seasons ago, it was a significant component to my Lost theory. Seeing it once again only fortifies my theory.

Just what is the Grassy Knoll Institutes Lost theory….I’ve been waiting to deliver this package to you for six years…..
Although it appears the survivors of Oceanic flight 815 are on a tropical island, they are being deceived. There is no island. The survivors are in a virtual reality laboratory. All the castaways are interconnected to one another sharing each others thoughts, memories, and feelings. While in this virtual reality laboratory, a battery of physical and mental experiments are performed on them. And who is running these experiments? As Juliet stated, the Aliens of course.

Lets dwell a little longer on room 23 and then we'll move on. As my theory goes, Room 23 was used for adjustments to the virtual reality program for several castaways who did not conform and adapt. After a few hours in the room, they were now part of the fold.

Jin and Kwon was the focus on and off the island tonight. Only at the end of the program was the package revealed. In the sideways flash Jin and Kwon are not yet married, travel to the states to deliver a package, a watch and $25 grand.

Sun gets her sexy on daring Jin to tell her to button up her sweater. He doesn't. They have sexual relations (Sex for those of the younger generation) and in the morning receive a surprise guest at their hotel door. It's Keamy. He wants his watch and money. Jin doesn't deliver.

Drama follows Jin and Sun in both the side way flash and on the island. Perhaps their virtual reality scenario is exploring the complex dynamics of relationships among couples. As in any experiment, we have the control set, (Side ways flash) and the variable set. (The island scenario) Each scenario may be run dozens if not hundreds of times until the correct results are obtained. Exactly what Jacob said in the season five finale. We are seeing the end of each experiment. The end game. No more resets as Jacob feels he has the correct variables in place for a favorable conclusion.

Tidbits From Tonight's Episode:

* Ilana tells Ben she knows he is lying because he is talking. LOL

* MIB tempts Sun to come with him to be reunited with Jin. Notice how he smiled, how he extended his hand. That comes into play a little later.

* Claire and MIB concerning Kate. After MIB is finished with Kate, what happens, happens.

* Pylons erected on Hydra island to keep MIB from entering.

* War is coming to the island.

* If MIB were to get off the island, everything would cease to exist. Perhaps a fail safe button to the VR program to reset the parameters or safe guard the lab.

* Richard returns, with a new sense of purpose, wants to stop MIB from getting off the island.

* Desmond is back, and he is the package.

* And one more thing as promised. About MIB tempting Sun to come with him. With his awkward smile and his hand extended. Exactly what he did with Kate in last weeks episode. Now here's the twist, the kicker, the Twilight Zone zinger. When Jack walked up to Sun's private camp fire and talked to her. Asked her is she trusted him. She answered with an affirmative nod. Jack than said that if Sun comes with him and the others, he will promise to unite her with Jin. He then smiles awkward and extends his hand out for Sun to take. She does.

Folks, that wasn't Jack. It was Smoky, old MIB. He promised Sun the same earlier but she ran in fear not trusting him. This time around, he got what he wanted. You read it here first.

I'm lovin the lyrics tonight lotgk. Plug into the faithless, either you are following MIB or you're dead, Sayid is soul less. Maybe their blinded, as that they can't see what MIB really is. Bennie makes them ageless, as in follow MIB and live forever. We shall survive, fight our parents, to find out who right and wrong. that is what the whole show has been about. Knowing what is right and wrong, like Jacob said, he didn't want to intervene and tell them what to do, Jacob wanted them to understand. It looks like they are.

tonight sucked ass, nothing happened, no one died like promised, no answers given, just more drawn out saga, the best part was Jin stripping in the hotel. this series could have been done in 4 years not the six they are dragging it out.

  3. Yeah I agree, I am done with Lost. I am not watching another episode. My LOTGK's days are over.. have a good life everyone.

  4. As usual, you are in tune to the music Gumby. I originally looked at these lyrics because it had a jet in them, as in, MIB wanting to get on the jet and leave the island but when reading the last stanza of the song, it all seemed to fit quite well.

  5. Yes, it was a little slow, seemed like filler and a stepping stone to future episodes. with only 6 left before the finale, they do need to speed things up.

  6. Sorry to hear that Fox. I appreciate all the comments you made and reading this blog for so long.

However, I will say that next week, people will die. Key core people. Think like a horror movie, who is always the first to die? Yes, the women who have sex. Plus, the ones that wonder off by themselves. The ones that say they will be right back or I'll meet you at the clearing. And lastly, the bad eggs. I promise, people will die.

  7. I saw that too about Jack. He mimicked Unlocke exactly, with the weird smile and the hand reached out. Like if Unlocke couldn't make Sun come around, then disguised as Jack will. And it worked.

But I thought smoky could only take possession of a dead person. Are you saying Jack is dead?

  9. I was really anticipating the package being a naked Julliet, for the world to see. Instead it was a doped up Desmond. Sayid has crossed over to something else. Since the island is the gray area before you go to heavan or hell, Sayid has no hope left for good, and has a one way ticket to hell.

By the by, V sucks and Elizabeth Mitchell does not look nearly as good without her island attire. I liked the first season of V, but I had a hard time watchin the premier last night.

  10. I think Jack had the love potion on and that weird stare was his googly eyes. For a second I thought Sun was going to strip down again, and throw herself at Jack. Sun isn't exactly an innocent school girl. She was cheating on Jin, and she seduced Jin, for a little loving and almost got him killed. Sun is not what the writers are manipulating us to think she is. She is a prime candidate for EVIL.

Have we seen the MIB occupy the body of a living person? Is that possible?

I question that it was Jack because of the tomato. That was a specific conversation pertaining to Jack and Sun. If the MIB was occupying Jack's body, that first conversation would have had to been him too.

Though the mannerisms were same (the hand extension and the way both men carry the backpacks) their backpacks were distinctly different colors. Jack's was brown, green, or grey and Locke's was very dark blue or black. That's a pretty specific detail to manipulate.

I could be wrong and would be fine admitting it, I just think Jack is still our good ol' Jack.

  12. You are all LOST. Sun is good, as is Jack. You just saw him become the new Jacob, and you missed it because of your jaded skepticism. Good and evil need to balance. Jack just balanced out the evil Un-Locke.

And, can I say more than any answers for the show I want to know the MIB's name. I HATE the name MIB or Un-Locke, and most of all when they call him Locke. He isn't John Locke. I am thinking his name will be Lucifer, Damien, or Esau. Either way I just hate the nicknames.

  13. Just pointing this out, perhaps the writers are tossing in a red herring, but Jack certainly reminded me of MIB in that scene.

  14. Who says so? Dogen? Perhaps it is just assumed that way!

  15. Juliet naked would have been a certain upgrade to a drugged Desmond.

  16. Sun certainly has the rough side to her. She is not as pure as the driven snow. I remember her affair in the hotel, and last night's strip tease solidified that stance.

    ReplyDelete
  17. That is the question Scarlett. Can MIB do that? The tomato is a good point. And are you sure Jack is the good one?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Joker, Sun cheated on Jin. Lied to Jin. Seduced Jin. Lied to her father. Was very rough in her dealings on the mainland flash back. She ain't all that good.

  19. "War is coming to the island"

I don't really buy into the religious theory but has anyone else noticed the Supernatural connection to Lost?
For those who don't watch Supernatural, the actor who plays Jacob actually has a recurring role playing - get this - the devil's vessel and MIB actually plays one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse - War.

    Coincidence?

  20. The only actual "good" castaway is Hurley. Everyone else has flaws. Hurley is the next coming of Jacob. That is why Jacob is talking to him. He is testing Hurley. If Hurley can meet all of Jacob's demands, he will be crowned.

  21. I know it may be a polar opposite as far as genres go, but does anyone remember how Newhart ended his series? The main character played by Bob Newhart...

    ReplyDelete
  22. I would toss Rose in there as a good castaway.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yes, Bob woke up next to his old wife from his former show and it was all a bad dream.

  24. And, on the island she is a good guy. she will find salvation. Mark my words.

    ReplyDelete
  25. So, will Jack wake up next to the cast of Party of Five? I would prefer a spin on the theme and have Charlie wake up in Detroit at a baseball game, unfortunately he was awake at the game, so no crossover...that would have been a classic move, oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Wrong, he cannot be testing him, because he is talking through him. He needs someone who is going to do the right thing without having to be told what that is (ie. Jack). Nobody has any conflict with Hurly, so no yin to the yang. Jack has Sawyer, the by any means necessary guy. Hurly will sacrifice himself to save Jack, kind of an "earn this, Saving Private Ryan, move.

  27. Consider them marked. You are probably correct, I'm just throwing out key points. Like the explosion of the sub in an upcoming episode killing many people on board.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Or have Rod serling walk on camera, smoking, and utter his classic line, 'submitted for your approval, you have just crossed over into, The Twilight Zone!"
    Cue spooky music.

    ReplyDelete
  29. However, Hurley is not all. Remember he killed several Others, ran them over in the van.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I love Lost. I hate that we had to wait 6 years to still not know what's gong on. I only have theories. I love suspence but with 6 episodes I am still left feeling like a donkey chasing a carrot on a stick.
I think Hurley is the main candidate because of his special power.
What I really want to know is...
In the pilot episode why did Jack give Vincent an odd smile??
Was Vincent really dead and was MIB or Jacob using his body??
Why would Jacob let the Losties suffer to prove a point to MIB??
How did the Island come to be??

I'll keep watching hoping it is worth it.

    Late

  33. Why is it Jocob is allowed to leave the island and MIB is not ?If the are both kinda equal then the should both be able to leave the island.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Very interesting question. The biblical answer becomes befuddled. However, with my theory, MIB is merely tired of running the experiment time and time again achieving the same results. He wants it to end. Jacob does not. He is waiting for one exact test result.
