Lost Update - Baby Come Back

Lost Update - Season V - 02/11/2009

Spending all my nights, all my money going out on the town,
Doing anything just to get you off of my mind.
But when the morning comes, I'm right back where I started again,
Trying to forget you is just a waste of time.

Baby come back, any kind of fool could see,
There was something in everything about you.
Baby come back, you can blame it all on me,
I was wrong, and I just can't live without you.

"This place is death. Don't let them bring her back to the island!" (Charlotte to Jin concerning Sun) But wait a minute, that theory was already discounted. That leaves my theory still viable.

Just what is the Grassy Knoll Institutes Lost theory….I’ve been waiting a long time to tell you…..
Although it appears the survivors of Oceanic flight 815 are on a tropical island, they are being deceived. There is no island. The survivors are in a virtual reality laboratory. All the castaways are interconnected to one another sharing each others thoughts, memories, and feelings. While in this virtual reality laboratory, a battery of physical and mental experiments are performed on them. And who is running these experiments? As Juliet stated, the Aliens of course.

I noticed something in tonight's episode. It began with Jin being 16 years in the past with the French expedition, with a pregnant Danielle. After a brief interaction, the island flashed a few times sending him and the French crew through time. But in one flash, Jin synced up with Sawyer, Juliet, Locke, Daniel, Miles, and Charlotte. Not only did he move in time, but also in location. All the previous flashes the group traveled in time only, not in location. When the island flashed yet again and again, why did Jin stay with his group instead of jumping on his own?

The reason is because Jin belongs with that group. He is part of a particular controlled virtual reality experiment. As are all the other previous groups of people on the island in the past, present, and future. (The Black Rock, Dharma Group, Original others, French Expedition, Castaways, etc.) Each group are set there for specific reasons. Even the ones that aren't even on the island. They will be compelled to return. Just as they all thought it was their own free will boarding flight 815, they will believe they are returning to the island on their own accord.

But in reality, (Or virtual reality) it is merely an extravagant experiment.

Charlotte revealed to Daniel that she grew up on the island and that her and her mother left the island. Ever since, she has spent her adult life to find and get back on the island. She then remembered that if she were to return to the island, she would die. And she thinks Daniel was the man that told her this. This begs the question, then why in holy hell would Charlotte want to get back to the island knowing she will die?

Tidbits From Tonight's Episode:
*And where the hell are the others? Rose, Bernanrd, and the rest of the original 48 and tallies?

*Was Charlotte born on the island? If so, perhaps that is why she died. Remember, all the babies born on the island die. When she returned, she died. All the others merely had nose bleeds.

*Some good advice. Listen to Jack's dead father. He told Locke while he was trapped down in the well; When did listening to Ben ever get you anywhere?

*History repeating itself. The French expedition all went crazy forcing Danielle to shot them all to protect herself and Alex.

*Jack's father made it a point to tell Locke that he told Locke to move the island, not Ben.

*As usual, Ben lies. When he said he was helping Sun, Kate, Jack, and the others, he was helping himself. Ben moved the island meaning he cannot ever return. Unless of course he has an ace up his sleeve.

*Eloise Hawking, Faraday's mother. She knows how to get back to the island?

*One more thing about tonight's title and lyrics tie in. I can just hear Jack singing this to Kate to convince her to return to the Lost island.

Until next week, Get Lost!

I'm confused now. If Ben already moved the island and went back to the mainland, then what happens when Locke moved it last night and went to the mainland. Right now he's dead in the casket with the Oceanic Six. Does he go to another time when he is still alive? What determines what time he goes back to? Anyone?

  2. OK, answer me this oh grassy knoll, if Ben is now off the island, he moved the wheel and went back to the manland, then who is in control of the island right now? Both Ben and Locke are off the island.

  3. I'm getting a little bored with this Lost season. We know they are time shifting, now get on with it. Explain why and how this adds to the big picture. And Charlotte is dead, she was dead sexy. Now she's just dead.

  4. Green Hood sees the writers brought up the we're all dead theory last night. Green Hood don't believe they are all dead, or virtual reality by aliens. Green Hood says your theory fits but thinks it wrong.

  5. BTW mister Curator, when are you going to use a song with the devil in it for Lost? I see it's only fair. You could use, The Devil Went Down To Georgia, or Devil With A Blue Dress On, or Devil Woman, just to name a few. I await your reply.

  6. Lost In Time-
Good question. The answer lies in "When" the mainland time is. Is it in the past, or future, or the current present. So, if Ben went back in time, and sees Locke in the casket, then Locke had already gone back in time before Ben, but we know that cannot be true because Locke didn't know how to go back. That's why my virtual reality theory is so strong. Because all the characters are interconnected, no matter what time period they believe they are living in.

    Eng8te-
    The aliens of course. :)
Or one could speculate that Richard is and always has been. Or Jacob, the mysterious invisible entity in the cabin. But it's the first one.

    Gumby-
Agreed, the writers are leading us down a huge path with IMO no return from the paranormal, or virtual reality. The sign post up ahead, the next stop, The Twilight Zone.

    Green Hood-
Yes, it seems that the writers toss a few bones around to existing theories to muddy the waters a bit. To keep us guessing, except for me, who knows the real secret. And now you do as well for you read the Grassy Knoll Institute.

    Anti-christ-
When the time is right, if that time is ever right, perhaps a devil will make the title page. Until then, GO TO HELL!

  7. I can't believe no one talked about the French Fries crawling down into the smoke monsters hole! Who talked to them when they went down there. How did they get out unharmed and why did they turn on Danielle. I think the guy said the smoke monster was just a security system!! I would like to know more about what went on down there. Jack's father is Jacob. It's safe to assume that.

  8. Fox-
We don't know they did survive. Jin flashed away before they came up. Although we do see Danielle shoot and kill her fiance. But the trick here is, when is that time line. The two men were rotting on the beach dead, the hand was also decayed, so that leads us to believe it's the near future from when they were.

  9. Also,.....
Notice everyone is calling Sawyer James now. before the flash, it was Sawyer. After the flash, it's James.
    Just saying....

  10. I stubbornly agree that Lost is going toward an ending with supernatural ties. Dead people coming back to life, time travel, miracle cures, no aging. It will be very hard to explain all that in a realistic manner and that is what the producers of Lost said.

  13. Damn people! Don't go and start agreeing with LOTGK, it will only go to his head.

  14. I hope the writers have a grip on whats happening. Otherwise, Lost will jump the shark very fast. lotgk, I was wondering as well where the other survivors from the crash are. And the tallies. When the island shifted, where did they go.

  15. all I know is I told ya about Farradays mother!!! I dont get a good call?

  16. Dee, here is your shoutout. You pegged her weeks ago as Daniels mother. Please forgive me for my lax of replies here the past week.

BTW, I am the owner of the Grassy Knoll Institute. I appreciate yours and everyone's comments. I understand that my Lost blog is one of literally millions on the Internet. I also understand that my blog has moved locations over the years and readership of blogs is fickle to say the least.

As always, please comment as often as you desire. Agree or disagree with me. (I understand that my theories are way out in left field and I have a one in a million shot at being right but I'm having plenty of fun with it

  17. I have been reading your Lost updates and find the Twilight Zone comparisons very convincing. Would it be to much trouble to expand on this theory a little more. Add some more profiles for the other people. Like Juliet, Ben, Penny, Widmore, Daniel, Charlotte. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Juicy, thank you for the kind words concerning my Lost theory. And yes, I am planning to expand the Twilight Zone theory very soon. I have come across a remarkable Twilight Zone episode that compares to Lost so closely, its uncanny. It's coming soon.

  19. It gets to be a lot to wrap the brain around for sure. I find myself watching the episodes twice just to make sure I haven't missed anything and then inevitably you notice something I didn't. I wondered about Rose, Bernard et al. too and I am still curious as to what happened to the children who the others took right after the plane crash. Did I miss something about them too?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Exactly Ben. The children were kidnapped and now not a word about them. And the other 30 plus castaways, where are they during these island flashes?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Ya know, I hadn't made the "James" connection. Nobody on the island, except Kate and Locke, ever called him James. Nicely done. I am doubtful that Jack's father is Jacob... It sounds to me like Farraday himself might fit the role nicely.

Ben sure does have a lot of "mystical" influence for someone that no longer has access to the island and its powers.

I haven't been able to make logical connections for those who are experiencing the nose bleeds. Is it those that lose their constant in all times? Remember how Desmond (and others) had to find something that binds them to both worlds, is that what's happening?

As for the black smoke, I thought of that as sort of a time corrector. If something is changed, altering the past which alters the future, the smoke comes along and cleans things up...

Collectively, there have been many hours devoted to Lost. I never schedule anything else Wednesday night and haven't for years. The show hadn't let me down yet but I have this nagging fear with the virtual reality stuff...it flirts with the "it was all just a dream" sequence. I have a lot of confidence in the writers to pull this off ... I can't begin to imagine the anarchy if the show does jump the shark!

  22. your an idiot- jin didn't move through time with the french group- he moved through time himself- remember it was mentioned that they could be moving forward or backward, years, hours or even just minutes? well jin happened to move forward to a time when the French crew was still occupying the island, albeit after Danielle had shot them because of their sickness. Remember then that Danielle said to Jin "where did you go, you disappeared?" She said it because Jin Jumped forward in time - without them

    ReplyDelete
  23. Forward-
There goes your cred right out the window. Nice way calling people idiots on your first comment.

But to reply, here is my original thought on Jin and the French.
"I noticed something in tonight’s episode. Translation. You're an idiot.

  25. does anyone miss the good old days of season one when it was just the survivors scared shitless of the island and its mysteries and the smoke monster and danielle the creepy french woman i mean dont get me wrong the show just gotten so broud, its still so awesome though!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. That could be exactly how the show ends. Crashing on the island again starting all over just with different parameters.

    ReplyDelete
  27. LOTGK i hear yourself and others on here keep saying different parameters? so by that what do you mean ? also dont you really think the vast majority of viewer would be pissed if this thing ended by being reviled a virtual realty experiment put on by aliens? i think they are wanting something a little more inline with what they have been seeing.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Dude, curator, EXACTLY. These are all just theories. That's the fun of this show. I kept reading about the VR theory and i STILL don't buy it because of it's simplicity but if there were a REASON for the VR i might be more willing to accept it.
For example, imagine they're all criminals sometime in the future (i assume future because of how perfect the VR would have to be). Their trial of facts has already been done meaning they are definitely guilty of their crimes but the VR would be a sort of second trial to test the people character. Are these people capable of redemption? Are they really bad people or did they just make a mistake? Their second trial is like their chance at redemption.
Following this theory Eko would have been executed because although he seemed to have been repentant about his crimes, when his brother finally asked him for his confession he denied it and said " i have only done what i needed to do to survive."
On the opposite side of the spectrum, Charlie, Boone and Shannon all died as soon as their issues were "resolved" respectively.
Like he said they're theories. If you believe in one theory too much your own mind will find ways to connect and make it all match but that doesn't necissarily make it so. So keep on watching guys and keep on spittin out them theories but don't get too focused on one idea or you might miss something that's right in front of your face =)
