Lost Update: Katy Lied

Lost Update - Season Six - 02/09/2010

Katy lied
I was halfway crucified
I was on the other side
Of no tomorrow
You walked in
And my life began again

Are you with me Doctor
Are you really just a shadow
Of the man that I once knew
She is lovely yes she's sly
And you're an ordinary guy
Has she finally got to you
Can you hear me Doctor

Kate, Kate, Kate. No matter where or when she is, Kate is on the run. In her sideways flash tonight, Kate continues her escape by forcing the cabbie to drive away. She zig zags across the city driving a very pregnant Claire to the hospital after the adoptive parents of Claire's baby balk due to the couple breaking up.

On the Lost island, Kate is running, escaping, even in tonight's episode. And Kate's running helps explain my Lost theory.

Just what is the Grassy Knoll Institutes Lost theory…. I’ve been waiting six years to tell you…..
Although it appears the survivors of Oceanic flight 815 are on a tropical island, they are being deceived. There is no island. The survivors are in a virtual reality laboratory. All the castaways are interconnected to one another sharing each others thoughts, memories, and feelings. While in this virtual reality laboratory, a battery of physical and mental experiments are performed on them. And who is running these experiments? As Juliet stated, the Aliens of course.

You see, Kate, on and off the island, was still part of the experiment, and through virtual reality, various scenario's can be inputted to study how she reacts to her constant. In both realities, Kate is running.

Speaking of Claire. In her Side way flash, she meets the adoptive parents of her baby Aaron. The woman explains that she and her husband had broken up and that she couldn't raise the baby on her own. Claire has complications and Kate takes her to the hospital. In both realities, Claire keeps Aaron.

Even professor Artz is the same on and off the island. He was a pain in the ass know it all at the airport as well as on the island.

And hey look, Ethan is alive taking care of Claire. He has more lives than a cat. (An Egyptian cat)

Something I found intriguing tonight involved Sayid. Sayid awakens from being dead, (Not mostly dead, but dead, dead) to the astonishment of the Losties. Dogan, (The leader of the Temple Others) has him brought in for questioning. (Interrogation) Sayid is strapped down, electrodes connected to him, and gray ash spread over him. A battery was cranked up and Sayid was shocked. He was then let go. He was told he was being tested, and he had passed. Doesn't this sound exactly what happened to him when he happened upon Danielle, the French woman. She did the same thing. Perhaps testing him to see if he was turned, or claimed.

Tonight's episode was slower than what I expected. With only a few more episodes to go, I was expecting more action, more answers, more moving toward the end game. Instead, we get the following tidbits.

* Dogan is the leader of the Temple Others. He dislikes to speak in the English language. He is afraid of Sayid, and all the Losties for that matter. Can someone say paranoid.

* Did you notice the interpreter, the guy wearing glasses, watched Jack very closely when he was drinking the tea Dogan offered him. I wonder why?

* What's in the box? (Grinning) Sawyer digs up the floor board of his former cottage shared with Juliet and holds tightly onto s cloth taken from the box.

* Sawyer steals a gun, leaves the temple by force.

* Sayid is infected! Or as best translated, Claimed.

* Staying with Sayid. Let the speculation begin. here's the first Sayid poll: After he rose from the dead, is Sayid now, Jacob, MIB, John Locke, Christian Sheppard, Boone, Charlie, or Sayid? And why?

* Jack chows the pill marked for Sayid. Dogan chokes Jack forcing him to spit it out. Dogan claims it was poison.

* Claire is a good shot. Was she claimed by Danille, the French woman?

* Why do the Temple others want the losties to stay inside the temple. What is the big deal if Sawyer leaves, and Kate, and Jin.

Episode 3 has aired and brought more questions than answers. At this rate, a 6 hour mini series will be needed to tie up all the loose ends after the series ends.

BTW: Lyrics by Steely Dan, off their Katy Lied album.

Until next week fans, Get Lost!

LURKING, STILL LOST ON THE GRASSY KNOLL

I agree this one went slow and didn't give us any answers but more questions. I am beginning to think the writers don't know how its going to end.

  3. Yes, as I said in the update, a slower than expected episode. With three of the episodes aired already, the end game has to come fast and furious. Unless of course it is virtual reality. :D

  4. Sort of making it up as they go along huh? Sometimes I believe it. Although they did say they had an exact ending, that they hoped would satisfy the viewers. Hoped! They better do more than that.

  5. Here's a question for you all.
What if John Locke was always the smoke monster. Much like Jacob did going around and visiting all the Losties before they crashed on the island. Perhaps MIB (Old Smoky) did the same and selected Locke for his return to the island.

Take a look at the sequence of events directly after the crash. Locke wakes up and can walk again. A miracle? Perhaps! But it could have been MIB. Locke did seem to know an awful lot about the island. It also explains how he knew how to hunt and track.

How else would MIB know that Ben strangled Locke on the mainland?

Damn dude. Those are fantastic lyrics for this one. Kate lied to Jin about tracking Sawyer to bring him back. She was escaping. She was halfway crucified, being captured by the FBI guy and being taken to jail. She was on the other side of no tomorrow. Jack walked in and her life began again. She wants to know if the doctor, Jack, is with her. Kate is lovely and yes she's sly. Great lyrics.

  7. So you're saying Locke was a plant on the crash. To keep watch over the survivors. To control them, manipulate them. OK, I'll buy that.

  8. * Staying with Sayid. Let the speculation begin. here’s the first Sayid poll: After he rose from the dead, is Sayid now, Jacob, MIB, John Locke, Christian Sheppard, Boone, Charlie, or Sayid? And why?

    I'll predict Sayid is Sayid.

  9. Thanks Gumby. I spend a lot of time to fit song lyrics to my Lost updates. They seem to go un-noticed most of the time. But seriously, they are an integral part of my lost updates. To me anyway.

  10. What I'm saying is perhaps Locke died in the crash like a lot of them. When he woke up, it wasn't Locke anymore, but MIB.

MIB went to visit the Losties to select the one that would best benefit him.

  11. I'm sort of leaning with Jacob, but I don't think we saw the last of him, (The actor who plays Jacob) so for now I'll guess Sayid. The Temple folks were mighty afraid of him though.

  12. I thought there were plenty of answers. What happened to Claire? Answered. Is Sayid dead? Answered. Does Richard age? Answered. Does Kate love both Jack and Sawyer? Answered. What happened to the children? Answered.

Lost better pick up the pace if they want to disclose the ending. What does everyone think how the show ends.

I love the lyrics tie in to Lost. At first I thought you were updating other episodes because they didn't match the actual show but I see how you use some significant song titles and lyrics for each episode.

Who is Sayid now. Jacob. He is inside the ring of Ash.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Please explain why richard doesn't age and what happened to the children :o?
I'm dutch so some things I don't really get because I watch it on the internet without subs (can't wait till it airs in the netherlands :p).
And I forgot when we saw claire for the last time... can someone clear that part up for me please (the part where we saw her for the last time).

    Thanks

  16. You are way off on this it is good against evil it is all tests and choices for the survivors to move on to heaven or hell...It is not a virtual reality experiment.
Sorry to blow up your theory!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Please explain what you mean by answered? What happened to Claire, Sayid, Richard, Kate, Jack, Sawyer?

    ReplyDelete
  18. The writers claim they have a plan. Sure would like to see it implemented.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Thank you. For me, I try to tie the title and lyrics in to be an integral part of my update. I hope its entertaining.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Those questions are several of the most asked. Many people have theories pertaining to them, but no definitive answers. Yet!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Chuck, since the pilot episode of Lost debuting in September of 2004, I posted my theory,

In each update, I pointed out the struggle between the castaways as they fought their own demons, had to make choices, between good or evil, had to choose sides between what was right or wrong. I pointed out how many castaways changed from good to evil and vice versa. My theory is rock solid and your one sentence theory does not dismiss it in the least. In fact, please explain, according to your theory, in the Catholic faith, the choice between heaven and hell.

As example, according to you, they are being tested to gauge their worthiness of heaven. So when a castaway dies, they go to either heaven or hell. Please explain then how some castaways return after they died? And now explain how an atheist understands the concept of heaven and hell. And a Muslim. Protestant. And the other assortment of religions represented on the island.

sorry to blow up your theory.

  22. That was a good thought. It totally fits in.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I always notice the lyrics. I am impressed and I apologize for not patting you on the back sooner.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I had completely forgotten that Danielle had used the same method on Sayid. Back then it just appeared she was crackers but apparently (like everything else on the show) nothing is random and there are no coincidences.
If I had to guess I would say that Sayid is 'infected' by the MIB. I doubt that Jacob has the ability to move about in people's bodies since it meant so much to MIB to be able to kill him. If he could come back so easily what would be the point in making his death so complicated?

Again Patrick, nice job on the lyrics and the post. You are my LOST headquarters.

    ReplyDelete
  25. But then why when he gets up from the wreckage is he so surprised by the fact that he can walk again? He knows how to hunt and track because his intention was to take that Australian outback adventure, which he was never able to do because the tour guide would not allow him to. Who knows how much he researched prior to that trip? I mean we know the character is intelligent. He was not always paralyzed. I don't know if I buy that theory. But the rest are pretty good.

    ReplyDelete
  26. He didn't look really surprised. He just wiggled his toes and got up.

About being Tarzan, you are correct, we don't know how much Locke knew about tracking and hunting. He may have been an Eagle scout as a boy.

That's the fun in theories. Thanks for reading and posting.

    ReplyDelete
  27. There are some leaks discussed above, but a good conversation piece at least.

    ReplyDelete
  28. No need to apologize. The song titles and lyrics are my way of making my Lost theories blog unique from others. Hopefully it does anyway.

It takes me about 30 minutes to write my update and about 30 minutes to select the right song and title. I'm picky that way.

Anyway, thank you for being a friend, reading my blog, and commenting. And may the rest of the winter in Canada be mild.

  29. The more I think about it, the more I believe Sayid is Sayid. We already assume that MIB infected Locke. However, if that is true, than what about the lifeless body of Locke dumped out of the silver crate.

I would speculate that MIB can shape shift, (We already have seen his darker side, the smoke monster) and he was impersonating Locke and was hoping to complete his mission before Ilana and her men showed up to protect Jacob.

But that's all an assumption. And you know what happens when you assume.....

    ReplyDelete
  30. OK, I'm going to say it. Has anyone else noticed the religious parallel Lost is taking from season five finale to season six premiere?

As in, Jacob is Jesus, and they both had to die for our sins. Ben is Judas, who betrayed Jesus and Jacob. The apostles gathered back at the temple and waited for Jesus to arise. Perhaps Sayid is Jacob, notice Jack examining his wounds, sort of like doubting Thomas did when Jesus appeared to them.

Just saying, the writers really threw a curve ball into the series finale.

Just check out this Lost photo and you decide what it resembles.

    Last Supper

    ReplyDelete
  31. I need more details.. I don't have answers for all of that yet? Can you elaborate a little.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Just a reminder that we are going on the assumption that Jacob is the good guy and MIB is the evil guy. Perhaps like most of this crazy series, the opposite is the truth. MIB is the good guy trying to save the Losties from more torture and death. Perhaps that is why he attacked the soldiers protecting Jacob and why he beat Richard and carried him away because Richard is a follower of Jacob.

  33. First time comer here, found you off google on lost secrets. I like this last comment a lot. I think the writers are following the same pattern telling us what lost isn't about, religion, they aren't dead, aliens, its not time travel, but really, thats exactly whats its about. Just the opposite of what they say. Same as the show.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I've been reading plenty of lost theories and yours is right up there. Everyone of them has flaws tho, and yours the writers said there were no aliens on the island, but what if its not an island, like you said, a big laboratory where the tests are. Then you could be right.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Its the last supper picture but instead of Jesus and the disciples its the lost characters with John Lock in the center portraying Jesus. Wow.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The devil doesn't need a body of itself to possess someone else. Thats how man in black was able to possess John Lock.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yea i would like more better answers than just ANSWERED!
Please if you know anything let us all in.

    ReplyDelete
  38. yea ur lyrics are always right on point!!! They make the page

    ReplyDelete
  39. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. And you are right, the writers say what the show isn't about and then shove it right down our throats.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Thats the beauty of my theory. There are no aliens on the island. Because there is no island.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Exactly. Lost has always had religious undertones, but this is in your face outrageous.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Exactly Theo. Exactly!

    ReplyDelete
  43. They certainly go well with the curtains for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  44. i WILL THINK THE SMOKE MONSTERS MAY BE ALIEN ENTITY, THEY ARE DEFINITELY NOT HUMANS.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I THINK HE WAS ABLE TO WALK BECAUSE OF THE HEALING PROPERTIES OF THE ISLAND, JIN AND HIS WIFE COULDN'T HAVE KIDS, BUT SHE GOT PREGNANT ON THE ISLAND, HOW DO WE EXPLAIN THAT?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Sayid "died" and then came back. He seems as surprised at those events as the next guy... and apparently, he's 'infected.'

Maybe it's the same with Locke.

Plus, don't forget Ben was shot as a boy and died (maybe?) and those same people brought him back to life in the temple. They warned that he would never be the same.

They know that whatever they're doing to cure/heal/resurrect these people is changing them, perhaps 'infecting' them.

Eh...I don't know. I'm more lost now than I was at the end of the last season.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Back in season five when Claire disappeared and then reappeared in Jacobs house with her father(Jack's father also) - they did not seem to be themselves, they seemed evil. Now after reading comments, they could of been MIB or Jacob? They never showed them again after that. Now Claire is back again as who knows who?! What is that all about!! Yes, I'm definitely LOST too!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Hey i know its back a bit, but when Locke(MIB) said he wanted to go home, i assumed he meant home from the island. (away from the experiment) like he wanted to go home.
    to the human world.
as locke, to escape the experiment (or whateva).

because he is sick of doing it, so he removes everyone (because he was a prisone rin chains forced to do this experiment)

...removes everyone who could stop him, or get in his way, so he can leave the island and be free in the human world..

    just a though..

    ReplyDelete
  49. Ok so I am not a big theorist but I do enjoy the show and your thoughts. On Locke being the Smoke Monster initially: didn't he stand up to the Smoke Monster one time ie met him face to face. Wouldn't that negate the "always been the Smoke Monster" theory. Thx for the insight.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Agreed they are certainly not human.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I guess the same way Ben Linus had been living on the island for years and his spinal injury never healed.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Agreed Serena. Sayid is infected, but exactly what that means to the Temple others, is quite unknown at this moment. Perhaps just as ben, Sayid will now turn to the "Dark Side" and form an alliance with the others.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Lisa, I theorize that the smoke monster can assume multiple identites, Locke, MIB, Jacob, Sayid, Christian, Claire, Charlie, all those that are dead.

    ReplyDelete
  54. For MIB, who knows where home is? Hell, Heaven, Alpha Centauri, Cleveland, Ohio.

I believe he was altering the parameters of the experiment, (Eliminating variables, the castaways) to make any further tests invalid.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Very good point. However, perhaps both MIB and Jacob have the capability to transform into Smoky. When Locke encountered the smoke monster, perhaps he recognized Jacob and was not afraid.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Naveen just dosnt try anymore. You can clearly hear an English accent when he wakes up and asks "What happened?".

    ReplyDelete
  57. Maybe they wanted him to sound like Jacob!!! :D

    ReplyDelete
  58. Nah, i dont reckon Sayid is Jacob. Why would the others try to kill Sayid if he was Jacob. Anyway Jacob isnt really dead, Ilana will put his ashes in the spring and Jacob will somehow return from the dead.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I'll see it again. Perhaps Jacob isn't the good guy and MIB the bad. Perhaps it is the opposite.
