Walking Dead Governor Is Not A Biter Yet

walking dead governor is not dead
The Governor Is Not A Biter Yet
News Flash:
After watching episode #8 (Too Far Gone) of AMC's series The Walking Dead, the Grassy Knoll Institute has uncovered concrete evidence that the Governor is not really dead but very much alive. The Talking Dead episode hosted by Chris Hardwick and guest Robert Kirkman, (Creator of The Walking Dead) confirmed my findings.

Let me explain. In last nights episode, when the Governor was choking the life out of Rick, Michonne ran him through with her Katana sword. The Gov fell onto his back, mortally wounded, but not dead. Michonne was leaving the "Biters" to complete the task. As the biters approached closer and closer, Lilly appeared, looked down on the still alive Governor, aimed a handgun at the Governor, and with her arm noticeably shaking, fired her gun.

So, the Governor is dead right? Wrong! Here is my evidence.

From the show, we did not see the governor dead. Perhaps Lilly missed. Understandable with her hand shaking so much. Perhaps Lilly had a change of heart and did not shoot. There were plenty of gun shots occurring at that time. Perhaps one of them just happened at the exact time Lilly was ready to fire. And that leaves the Governor alive. Yes, severely wounded, but alive.

Robert Kirkman confirmed in the Talking Dead program that when the producers kill off a main character like Hershel played by Scott Wilson, it is an intense death scene. (Hershel getting his head hacked off by the Governor needing several blows to complete the task) So how did the Governor supposedly die? By a gun-shot to the head that was not shown on camera by Lilly, a new character with no real history on the show. I don't think so.

The Governor is alive, severely injured, but alive. He will surface next season. With a new ally. An ally named Carol.

ADDENDUM: Photographic evidence that the Governor survived the attacks. Governor Proof Of Life

  1. I see your point, kirkman really didn't elaborate on the Governor and even his memorial wasn't featured much. And what about Judith. Is she alive?

    1. I believe Judith is alive, there was no memorial on the talking dead with Chris Hardwick. And I cannot believe the producers brought back the Governor for just a few m episodes, he will be back, with Carol at his side.

  2. I was waiting for you to bring up the Gov, and I agree that he is not done with th show yet. I like your thinking on Carol rescuing him and forming a bond. A dangerous bond.

    1. I just don't think the showrunners would bring the Governor back for such a short run in season four. As Arnold says, "I'll be back."

    1. Absolutely a great villain. And a survivor. I don't think he was killed in the cliffhanger.

  4. I can confirm that the Governor is not here in Hell. And if he were dead, then he would be here. Hence, he is alive.

  8. Well there you have it, empirical proof that the Governor is still alive.

  9. I'm gonna go with the governor is dead. But comes back as a biter, and attacks the group again. About Carol, we haven't seen the last of her, she will come back to claim the two girls in her care.

  10. Good call. I like that one. Maybe he will be carrying Hershel's head around with him.

    1. I would love to see that but the gov is dead, wont be back.

    2. We differ in opinion. I believe the writers threw us all a curve ball, to break away from the comic book canon if you will, so now no one will what to expect.

  11. Great post Pat, I wanted Michonne to poke his other eye out and leave him for the walkers.

  12. But what is the proof that the governor is in fact still alive? Give me more details, I love the governor.

  13. Although bringing the governor back would be an amazing and huge twist it's a near impossible chance it would happen because that is exactly how the governor does in the comic plus if u pay attention she does aim directly at the camera which indicates his vision. I hate to believe it because I feel he brought suspense and horror to the show as well as rocked as a villain, I'm almost sure he's dead. :/

  14. I didn't think Rick was going to kill him when he jumped out and tackled the Gov, but I thought Michonne was going to behead him, but no, she merely runs him through.

  15. Just by watching the Talking Dead with chris Hardwick and guest Robert Kirkland, the way Kirkland described giving the pivotal players a "Worthy" gory death just like hershel's. The Governor, dying the way he did, no one got any satisfaction, not from Rick, Michonne, Daryl, not even the fans.

As I have stated in other comments, other characters were mortally wounded and survived. Before the beheading, Hershel had his leg hacked off after being bitten. Carl was shot by a rifle. Merle cut his own hand off to escape the walkers and he survived. Why not the Governor?

  16. I know he dies in the comic version, but as we all know, the television version has splintered away from the canon of the comics. I believe this is merely just one more variation. One that the comic book readers would not expect. And in season five, when he returns, with Carol, ratings will be huge.

  17. I see what you mean but why would his death be on talking dead then?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Why carol? She knows all he has done and she was really good with Daryl and she knows he killed Daryl's bro

    ReplyDelete
  19. What about him loosing his eye? lol

    ReplyDelete
  20. Carol is returning next half so she will obviously end up with someone from the prison, so I doubt she will end up with The Governor if he is alive.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I believe Kirkland threw in a teaser to spark conversation during the Winter break until the Dead returns in February. I noticed how insignificant Talking Dead treated the Governor's death time for the show. Almost as an after thought.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Arghhh, now he be a pirate.

    ReplyDelete
  23. About Carol. Well, take a deep breath, but she never quite chose the right men in her life, pre apocalyptic walking dead and post apocalyptic time frame. Her husband was an abusive man who beat and controlled her. She gravitated towards Daryl, and remember, before we all got to know Daryl, he was also an outsider Hell bent on revenge on who killed his brother Merle.

Now Rick banished Carol from the group. The Governor would be the next logical choice..

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oh for sure, agreed, Carol will certainly return again. Look at how long Morgan was off the show until he turned up. I am believing Carol will wind up with the Governor.

    ReplyDelete
  25. So what about the other twd characters they still have to introduce like Abraham and negan? If the gov is still there it won't be so easy.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Well Carol has changed, she had said something in season 3 about Ed and what she would have done if he was there now.

    ReplyDelete
  27. They have an entire season to do so. Look how many people were introduced so far during the first eight episodes this season. I think it will be a great season with several new enemies to face.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Agreed Jake. Carol has changed. She was a meek and mild mouse and now she is a bad ass. But her taste in men still gravitates toward the bad ass men.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Huh. So u really think he's still alive? :)

  30. I can see both side of this discussion. The Governor certainly appeared to have no hope whatsoever, and Lily was at close range that she couldn't miss him and even if she did the walkers would have got him because he was on the ground from a sword wound. On the other side, the Governor is one tought sonofabitch. Just look at how he rambled through those walkers getting the oxygen tanks for Lilys dad. The Governor has been through a lot, he is probably tough enough to survive this.

  31. Hey Pat, I tried to comment on firefox but couldnt see the comments for discus. Do i need to subscirbe to discus to comment now?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yes I do. I believe the Governor is still alive and will return in season five. With a vengeance.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Thanks Eddy, and yes, I know it is an almost impossibility, but I believe it to be true. The Governor is still kicking and is alive.

    ReplyDelete
  34. What? I will check right away. Anyone else using Firefox browser and commenting?

    ReplyDelete
  35. I hope so. That will be very cool if it does.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Agreed. And it will help separate the comic series from the AMC television series. This way, no one will know what will happen in future episodes and seasons. And that will make it even more exciting to watch, not knowing what is in store.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Sent a query to DISQUS about Firefox. Will let you know. Tank you for the heads up.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I really hope so. But on this site where the guys on the crew were answering questions one of them was why did you kill the governor before the end of the season and they said because it was his time to go after everything... So idk

    ReplyDelete
  39. Kirkland himself said that the upcoming episodes and future seasons will twist away from what the comic series is. Kirkland said he will shake things up, and I believe it will start with the Governor.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Let's hope so. Although it may just be michonne having flashbacks cause if you look on imbd it says he's going to be in more episodes

    ReplyDelete
  41. I would think the actors sign a contract that allows them to return for future episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  42. So you think they'll kill him for good at the end of the season then?

    ReplyDelete
  43. I don't think the writers will kill him off at the end of this season. I believe the Governor will still have a significant value next season.

    ReplyDelete
  44. That would be the biggest episode ever of the show if the Governor came back. Ratings would be huge. I don't think it will happen, but I see your point about ratings and popularity of the Governor.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh my gosh, no kidding, people would flip out. The show would leave everyone on edge. Especially if it zoomed out on the group to see the governor watching them. People would be like what?!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Exactly D, and the network is all about ratings. And the Governor returning would be bigger than "Who Shot JR"

    ReplyDelete
  47. With the Governor watching them with Carol by his side.

You can at least get Robert Kirkman's name right...

  49. You came all this way to point this out, a name spelled wrong. Thanks for adding your critical insight to the discussion.

How's this for insight. First your a noob. The man who created TWD deserves the respect of having his named said right. Second the Govenor is dead. Forget about Lily, nobody can survive being shot then stabbed through the chest without medical care. The Governor finding aid in the middle of a field with dozens of walkers is completely unbelievable, and would be jumping the shark. Don't forget we didn't actually see Carl shoot Lori and she's dead. Now I did have to go all the way from one side of my bed to the other to send this message but it was worth it.

  53. Triston Henderson12/16/2013 3:05 PM

Karma? First karma doesn't exist, and neither does Lily. Are you really comparing someone who isn't real to TWD creator? Um no. Typical noob move.

    ReplyDelete
  54. And neither does your intelligence exist. And you still spelled Lilly's name wrong. Talk about a typical troll going crazy over a typing error. I can already guess your next comment, Ass hat name calling.

    ReplyDelete
  55. but even if the governor had survived the knife wound and gunshot the zombies would get him, he couldnt walk away fast enough to get away.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Lets look at this another way. Carl was shot by a rifle and he survived. Hershel had his legged chopped off in the field and he survived. The Governor did get run through but I did not see any gunshot to his body. I heard a gun shot but the camera panned away.

  56. Governor is definitely not dead. All the usual signs are there to indicate it. Biggest thing is the kill not actually being shown on camera.

    1. Agreed on that. The Gov will return, with a vengeance. And with carol.
