Japonais Filet |
As you can see, I ordered filet mignon with creamy potatoes. It was served on a square low brim hot clay plate. The filet was around $40.00 without tip. A coke was added to complete my meal.
Surprisingly, the fillet was very flavorful, tender, juicy, and excellent. I was a little skeptical about the potatoes as well but they were very good. Instead of mashed, they were puree style with grilled asparagus.
The Grassy Knoll Diner awards 4 shots out of 5 and recommends Japonais restaurant for dinner. Minor deductions for a minor mishap with our waitress and the cost being just a tad to pricey.
LURKING ON THE GRASSY KNOLL
Never would have thought of ordering a filet in a japanese restaurant.
ReplyDeleteIts not a Japanese restaurant, its just called Japanais. They have excellent Kobe beef there.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, you are a rebel! :D
ReplyDelete40 bucks is, if not exactly out of my price range, a bit too much. Perhaps for a special occasion but I usually go for value-for-money kind of establishment. Mostly because I can't appreciate value anyway :P
I'm with glen here, would never think to order steak in a Japanese restaurant. I would be thinking I'm eating dog the entire meal.
ReplyDeleteSometimes you must be bold. That day I was.
ReplyDeleteFor sure it was pricey but we had to try it. The atmosphere was very unique. A wise choice.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't a Japanese restaurant per se, they did have steak on the menu and i heard that it was a great place to eat so we went. Bold moves.
